We are trying to plan a VERY inexpensive trip this Spring Break w/our kids 18, 15, and 9. Normally we stay at Disney or Universal but it has to be cheap this trip (son is a Freshman in college!)

Last year we rec'd a postcard from Sheraton about one of the resorts (vistana or villages?) and couldn't take advantage of it then. We would get points and get a rate of like $169 for 4 nights I think. Well, I thought I would search it and try to find it online and came up w/another deal by Sheraton. It was to stay at Buena Vista Suites, but when I called they only had Caribe Royale available for those dates.

The deal we got was $249 for 4 nights and we get 2 Disney tix (one park, one day). We have to listen to the timeshare speach, though. Haven't told DH about that one yet! I know this is a good deal b/c I had already priced it before finding this deal and could get it for $159 per night I think (that could have been Buena Vista Suites).

My ??? is who has stayed there and is it worth it? I have read mixed reviews and am a little concerned about the cleanliness, etc.

The pool looks nice and we are all about the pools. That is why we like the onsite hotels so much.

I could research further to find the Vistana resorts deal but thought I would check w/the boards first to get everyone's opinion!

We also want to take advantage of the $86 Universal tickets as well. Does anyone know how long that will go on? We will be in Orlando April 9-14.

Sorry this is lengthy.

Thanks!

I think that is a great deal. I have not found that hotel for that low a price. The resort looks nice and got a good review on hotels.com and Mousesavers. I would go for it. So you have to hear the timeshare talk, that isn't that big a deal. You can also find some townhouses in Windsor Hills for about $70-80/night. That may be an option too if DH doesn't want the timeshare talk.

I would do it!

We are doing this timeshare deal also. They called me and offered four nights in the 1 bedroom suite for $149 with $100 cash back after we do the presentation! I thought that was a steal, so i booked it!

I have been researching the hotel and it looks like it gets mostly good reviews so i'm not too worried. It's also really close to Disney.

Is this rate for a one br? Will you have enough room for five?

herc.

I'm also looking into Caribe Royale for our arrival night.

It fits 5......2 queen beds and a pull out sofa.

:)

Just a warning.... we stayed one night in the Caribe Royal this past Dec. I slept on the pull out bed and it was awful. The noise from the hall was pretty bad and the bed itself was so uncomfortable. We let the 3 kids sleep in the other room in hopes of some privacy, but it was not worth the effort. The room we had was in Tower 2 and the furniture was pretty worn, as was the carpet. The pool was very nice and was the highlight of the night.
