Deal on AAA membership?

We've been thinking about joining AAA for a while and I'm ready to do it now, hoping to get a discount on room rates for our next trip. It seems to me that I've seen deals before on joining AAA - either a trial month free or maybe spouse free but of course I can't find any such thing now. Does anyone know of any deals?
