the hbo series. Who's watching. Do you think the language is authentic to the period? I am sure they didn't speak proper English. I'm just wondering if the blue language they use is the same as what was used during the period.

The first show was shocking! I am no prude but the language was unbelievable. The second and third shows had less, but still too much. I think its going to be one of my favorite shows.

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

They outdid the Coen Brothers for that language, and that's not an easy task.

That's not a criticsm though. It's just an observation.

I watch it.....in fact, I don't want to miss it...despite the language, i think it's well done...

as to if the language is accurate to that era....i can only guess....

the town was lawless....male domnated....very uncivilized....that much is known....i would suspect language that strong was used to enforce a heavy handed and brutal hold on others...

btw...David Carradine as Wild Bill...he does an excellent job i think...

The language was a bit hard to deal with as was the full frontal male nudity, which kind of,well jumped out at me. But I think if it's the way they talked it's valid. If not, it's just extreme and stupid. But i'm hooked on the show.

I wanted to watch this show, but missed episode 1. So I'll check it out if it gets rerun later on.

Can someone give me a brief synopsis of what the show is about, in case I do check it out sooner?

if you have digital hbo it available at comcast on-demand. This is my new fave feature.

I watched it because I like history. While some aspects may be historically accurate, maybe even the language, it is totally unnecessary for making a good movie. I think it could be done just as well, maybe better, if it were cleaned up.

It's like comedians who think they need to use foul language to be funny.

DH & I are hooked on it. Entertainment Weekly magazine has an article on the show. The writers say they researched everything down to the language to try to keep it authentic.

Either way, it's a great show. I love that it is right after The Soprano's, which always goes by way to fast.

I can take it or leave it. My dh LOVES it. HBO has also signed on for another 13 episodes so I guess it's not just us that like the series.

Oh man I thought you were talking about my stepson, I wish we still had HBO, I miss all the good shows on it.
