Deadline for ordering Dining Plan?

Refresh my memory! What is the deadline for ordering the Disney Dining Plan for DVC stays?

Do you have to get the tickets w/ the dining plan or can you do the plan solo if you are DVC? I know for the regular resorts you do, but when I've booked my DVC stays, they've alway asked if I wanted a dining plan w/o mentioning tickets. Until now, I hadn't even considered it. But we might. I'd really like to purchase them separately if I can.

You don't have to get the tickets with the dining plan at DVC. We are staying at the VWL, have annual passes and was able to add the dining plan.

I have non-expiring tickets that we use over a period of several years. For our upcoming trip, we bought the dining plan and tickets were never mentioned. So, I would say, that you do not need to buy tickets with the dining plan.

While I wouldn't wait and take the chance, I'm pretty sure that you can add it up until midnight online. I know I've seen the icon to add the DP on the website after MS closed 2 days before arrival. Again, I wouldn't take the chance but it might give an additional option in a special situation such as a last minute decision on who's going.
