No I didn't watch the game. My nerves wouldn't allow it. They better kick butt Sunday!!! As Rasheed Wallace would say- GUARANSHEED! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh my!! I can't watch these games, my nerves are shot! I was in the bedroom DISing by myself so I can have the TV on something else but muted so I can listen to LIVE 365 but I have the remote in hand so in case I hear hubby screaming in the living room I can turn it on quickly. There is a bizarre science to watching the Pistons play.

GO PISTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My DD ( self proclaimed #1 Pistons fan :teeth: ) is convinced that Detroit is just "playing" with the Cavs, and that they planned it this way. I mean honestly to beat them by so much the first game , winning the second and then all of a sudden for 3 games straight, they forget how to play bball?? I don't know....but I am looking for one heck of a game tomorrow especially on their home court....should be pretty wild !! Hopefully they can keep the bench playing to a minimum...seems they do much worse when the "relief" players come in. Look at the last 3 regular season games...they sat the starters for most of the games and the bench guys really threw the games away.

GO PISTONS........!!!!!!

1. Is Lebron just overated? I saw a pretty good player who hogs the ball and gets ALL of the calls from the (league directed) officials??? :confused3

2. Is Rahseed Wallace Illiterate? I couldn't understand a word he said in his interview and in reading quotes on ESPN.Com he seems to make no sense. Was UNC really that bad educationally under Dean? :confused3

3. Is the NBA just boring? Where is the talent? Where is the strategy? Where's the teamwork (aside from Detroit)? :confused3 College b-ball ain't what it used to be but it's a far cry better than this crapola.

4. Those who think Lebron is GREAT will get a chance to see perhaps the best player in the NBA against Detroit this round...No, not that bumblehead, most overated, King Kong sized no talent, change the rules for me Shaq but Dwayne Wade. This guy really is Michael like (much moreso than Lebron). Watch and see if you don't agree.

5. I think Detroit will be way to much for the overachieving Heat (even with Wade). I expect Detroit in 5.

Overrated??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If LeBron's a ball hog, then you'd have to say the same thing about Dwayne Wade (who, BTW, is a phenomical player, I agree). The two of them averaged the same amount of assists per game this season (both near the top of the league).

It's true I've seen Wade more than Lebron, but I have never seen Wade try to do it all like James did against Det.

Perhaps Lebron just wasn't up to snuff in the Detroit series (the only time I've seen him). But his stats were about the same as his year end averages and to tell you the truth, if it weren't for the hype, including the ridiculous ABC announcers, I don't think anyone would've cared. He played a very good first half in game seven and then looked oh so inept in the second half. Seriously, if his efforts hadn't been saved by the officials' terrible calls putting him on the line he wouldn't have had a point.

Ridicule me if you want but I'd rather have you explain what I'm missing.

BTW, I'm not a big basketball fan anymore (could've guessed, huh?) but I was in my younger days, in fact I was all state in Michigan high school and played division I college with three guys who went on to the pros (Ben Poquette, Dan Roundfield and James MeElroy), so my basic knowledge is more than rudimentary.

Go Tayshaun! I'm no NBA fan, but I have to root for my ex-Kentucky players whenever I get a chance, since Tubby isn't going to have UK in the Final 4 anytime soon.

I've been wondering. I keep hearing on Fox Sports Radio (via XM) this hilarious sound clip of someone screaming what the OP put as the title of this thread. Is there someone that does this before every game? Is it a kid, or some high-pitched adult? It's so obnoxious you have to love it.

Wade has a lot better players around him than LeBron does. :) At best, the other players on the Cavaliers are inconsistent. When the other guys are playing well, LeBron is just as happy passing the ball and just getting his points in the flow of the game. But when nobody else is hitting a shot (yesterday was a good example), he has no choice but to try to do it all by himself.

If yesterday was the only game you saw, then I can see where you'd say he was a selfish player. But even in other games in the series (and certainly in a number of the Wizards series), when other guys on the floor with him were hitting shots, he focused on getting everyone involved in the scoring and the only time he really tried taking over the game by himself would be down the stretch, late in the fourth quarter, assuming it was a close game. But that's no different from most other "stars" in the league in crunch time, Wade, Kobe, Steve Nash, etc.

I believe it's the PA Announcer at the Palace (the Pistons' home court). You could hear it at every home game over the TV -- even more so yesterday.

Personally, I found it obnoxious, but then again, that might be a wee bit biased, being a Cleveland fan. :rolleyes1 :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I’m pulling for the Pistons because I’d love to see Flip Saunders get an NBA championship! Good thing my Timberwolves cut him loose. That move really helped us this year. :sad2:

IMO LeBron is the real deal. But it does really bother me that more and more often he tucks the ball under his arm outside the elbow and takes three or four steps on his drive to the basket. I blame that trend in his game on the officials, not the player. But, you have to go back to Jim Brown to find someone who has carried the ball in Cleveland as effectively as Lebron James!

I can't believe that. Surely, it's just someone with an obnoxious voice, not the actual PA announcer. I've never heard a PA announcer like that. Usually, they have very plain, but well-spoken voices. It's hard to imagine such a voice pulling off such a scream.

But I suppose it's possible. For example, Kentucky's PA announcer in Rupp Arena has a very plain, non-accented voice, usually. But when he's announcing the lineups before the game, he'll announce the opposing team in a plain voice, and then when he announces the Kentucky team, he'll precede it with: "And now, for your Kentucky WwwwWILDcats!" and his voice will sort of crack on the "Wild" syllable, similar to the "Bask" syllable in Detroit BASKetball. Still, his voice is still much less obnoxious and funny than the Detroit voice.

Anyone know for sure?

We have been trying to schedule our Disney touring around the games and I hope the fab 5 don't let us down!!

We watched at ESPN last year and the year before and it was great! We tried to watch at the Polynesian last year (as we had done 2 years ago), but some imbecile :p moved the television from the Tambu Lounge to the lobby area on that floor so the "kids could watch cartoons" while waiting for dining reservations! C'mon folks--it's DEE TROIT BAS KET BALL! :cheer2:  :cheer2: :woohoo:

LeBron is a great player. He is a ball hog since most of the team is, shall we say, less than awesome. People need to remember that he is just a kid, 21 years old.

NBA doesn't call traveling like NCAA. They ALL travel and unless it is like 4-5 obvious steps it isn't called.

People are missing the real showdown series right now, which is Spurs v Mavs. The NBA doesn't care about teams, they want superstar players that the country (not just hometown fans) will watch. That is what LeBron is. People will watch Detroit v Cleveland because they want to see LeBron. They will watch LA or Miami for Kobe and Shaq. People outside of Detroit only got interested in them last year after the brawl.

I'm looking forward to tonight's game 7. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately, most of the other games in their series started so late (9:30-10pm EST), so I was usually heading to bed around that time. So I've only caught the highlights of the other games.
