I shared this with an American Girl message board, but I know there are some fans here too who might be interested. :)

My childhood Felicity doll had a really bad case of the frizzies because of an incident 7 years ago in which I thought I had read to dunk hair directly in boiling water to make it smoother. I had the heat up too high and ended up badly damaging it.

Well, the other day, on recommendation from other members of the AG message board, I decided to be brave and try using heat again. This time, I dunked her hair into warm water with shampoo and conditioner. Then I took a curling iron on low setting and carefully ran it through each small lock of wet and soapy hair. The difference is absolutely incredible! Take a look!

Wonder of wonder, miracle or miracles...

I know some of you may think this is a silly thing to get all excited about, but I can't help it- I'm absolutely giddy! :Pinkbounc

If you ever want to have the American girl dolls hair styled, just take it to the American Girl doll store and they can do it for you. The store on 49th and 5th in NYC has the doll hair salon on the 1st floor. Its really cute to see the little girls bringing in their dolls for a makeover.

Wow, that is an amazing difference! Glad you were able to find a way to "makeover" her hair :) Thanks for posting the link to the pictures. We have a Felicity doll too :goodvibes

Wow, that is quite an improvement! I have also been told to soak their hair in Downy when it gets a bit too tired looking.

the Chicago AGP store has the salon...one of the girls there told my Dniece to just use a spritz bottle of water and the brush they sell...works great and said that is all they use in the AGP salon.

Wow that is incredible. I have a few dolls and my first was a Kirsten doll (back when they only had Kirsten, Samantha, and Molly). I begged my mother to let me take the braids out and she finally gave in and I wish I would have listened to her because her hair is kinda frizzy and I can't stand it. AngieBelle you have given me hope :goodvibes
