This will be our first time traveling to WDW and having to worry about food allergies. Our DD is 2 and has food allergies to peanuts, legumes, shellfish and fish. If anyone has any helpful info. or can point me toward any helpful threads, I would greatly appreciate it! TIA!

Mention it when you make your ressie and mention it again when you check in. The Chef will come out and speak to you at each restaurant and go over the menu or buffet. If there is nothing at that restaurant they will create a meal for your DD. This has been my experience.

Go to the disAbilities board and you will find a lot of awesome advice.

WDW is great with food allergies. Both my kids have food allergies - both have peanuts/treenuts allergy, and one has wheat allergy and other has dairy allergy. When I make my ADR, I tell them the allergies, and the chef comes out to our table and talk to us about their allergies, and then make each one of them their own meal. If it is a buffet, the chef will also walk with you and tell you which items are safe and which to avoid. I don't think you have anything to worry about...

Thank you all for your responses. Sounds like things should be pretty easy, but I will check on the DisAbilities board too.

DS had bunches of food allergies when we went. Send an e-mail here: WDW.MK.Special.Diets@disney.com (The person I spoke to was named Brenda) and tell them what your food allergies are and ask if they can help you. In my experience, they made a "file" with our information in it, and they were able to tell me what I could and couldn't let DS eat while we were there. (Seriously, lists and lists. I ended up e-mailing the diet person at each park, but MK was definately the most helpful, and they gave me info about all the parks as well.) At table service, you just mention that you have food allergies and they send the chef out...the chef will help you, and make your food special. It was great! Hope that helps!

Brenda is great!!!

My son has gone twice so far (ages 22 mo & almost 5). He is allergic to dairy, peanuts, tree nuts & egg whites.

I felt at ease while in Disney & him eating.
