I wasn't too surprised when she failed the first one, then she had the same examiner the second time and failed again - I was a bit surpirsed, but understood it shook her a bit to see the same examiner coming out to test her! Test no. three was the same examiner again! And she failed again, no surprise there! Her instructor had a bit of a heated discussion with the test centre about it (apparently this particular examiner is well known for being really tough, so to get him three times in a row seemed like incredible bad luck!). So, for no. four she booked at a different centre and failed on the bay parking in the test centre car park because she'd never practised there! Number five was booked for the day that turned out to be the snowy day, so it was cancelled - and was rebooked for tomorrow.

Following on from the above (that I posted in reply to Matt's thread about how many times it took us to pass our driving tests), here's the update on DD's fifth attempt today . . .

DD arrived at the test centre to be told she wasn't on their list for today! A bit of detective work and they discovered she'd been booked in at a different centre when the test was rescheduled on the snowy day! By then it was too late to get to the other centre in time, so she's now been re-booked for Friday. So on Friday she'll get all worked up for what will be the seventh time (although 'only' the fifth time taking the test).

Honestly, I think someone somewhere must be trying to tell her something! She says she's fed up with the whole thing (I don't blame her  ) and I don't know if she'll carry on if she doesn't pass on Friday. I think we need everything crossed really hard! :wizard:

 Aww bless her, this must be really affecting her confidence

:wizard: :wizard: Wishing her lots of luck for Friday :wizard: :wizard:

Aww Hilary thats awful....

Wishing her load of luck for Friday.

What a pickle. I don't blame her for being fed up, either. I think she's due some good luck from the cosmos. :goodvibes

Oh what a shame :sad2:

A lass at work (22) had seven, yes seven attempts and finally passed a few months ago. I honestly never thought she would do it but convinced her, when she was down, that she had spent far too much money trying to give up.

:yay:

Good luck for Friday

What a nightmare. Fingers crossed for her next attempt. When I passed (4th time) it was my third test in a week!

What a nightmare, no wonder she is worked up.

Sending lots of :wizard: for Friday:thumbsup2

Having only passed my test last April the stress is still 'fresh' in my mind so I can empathise. I really really hope she passes on Friday but if not please convince her not to give up she will get there and she will probably be a better driver for it. Sending her loads of :wizard: for Friday and don't forget to let us know how she gets on.

I agree with Annmarie, when she passes she'll be a better driver for it.
My Ex husband was a driving instructor, the examiners are constantly undergoing tests themselves, they get a grading each year depending on how many people pass/fail with them, if its too many of one or the other they are tested themselves so it sounds like her particular examiner has been reprimanded for having either too many passes or failures last year and so is having to be extra tough to save his own job!

Thanks for all your good wishes :)

That's interesting - I'd never even considered the examiner's point of view (well, I wouldn't, would I? :teeth: ). I forgot to mention that DD's instructor asked to sit in on test no. 2 when she saw it was the same examiner again as she wasn't happy with this particular examiner's reputation (little did she know at the time how things would turn out further down the line!).

sending :wizard: for friday.

what a nightmare, loads of luck of Friday, I will be thinking of her
