My DD will be six beginning of November and we have started planning her Birthday Party. She wants to invite some friends from school, but how do you decide which ones to invite? She has a lot of girls that she plays with, but I don't want anyone to feel left out. We also have quite a few family members that will be coming.

I have thought about having a party for her with the kids from school and then having a party with family. Not sure I want to start all that.

Of course last year we solved the whole problem by going to WDW for her Birthday and celebrating at Cinderalla's Castle. Wish we could do that again.

How do you guys do birthdays????

We generally do seperate parties, one for the family and one with the kids. We limited DS (who just turned 6 in June) to 8 children, we bought our party supplies through Birthday Express and I told him they are sold in packs of 8 so he had to chose carefully who he really wanted to attend. Additionally, so feelings weren't hurt, we gave out the invitations outside of school.

Each year, we do things a little differently for my son (he turned 6 in August), but we usually do have one "kiddie" party and one adult party.

This year, we had his kiddie party at a Burger King on a Friday evening. The BK had a big playroom, and we invited his whole class.

The following day (a Saturday), we had a barbecue in our yard and invited the family to that.

I invite my kids' cousins, aunts, uncles, Paw Paws, Grandma, us, and sometimes a neighbor or 2 will pop in. I invite 2 of my friends' and their kids (only 1 shows up though). We have around 20-40 people for their parties (my SO has a big family-7 brothers and sisters). My dd wants to invite school friends, but we haven't done that yet (well, one little girl is in her class, but she's one of the neighbors that shows up).
