Ddp

DDP worked great for us and saved a ton of money when we were bringing hungry (and I do mean hungry) teenagers with us to WDW. They would eat anything not nailed down anyway, so quantity was never an issue. :rotfl2:

Now that's it's just myself and DH, we just can't consume that much food every day!

We are going to try it for the first time this trip. We'll see if works for us. If not, we'll remember that for next trip.

I say give it a try and see if it works for you and your family. :thumbsup2

We didn't do the DDP when we went last week. I tried to eat as if I were on the dining plan and I have to say that it was Way More Food than I could eat. I think I gained 10 lbs last week :goodvibes Plus, we added the dessert party at the MK and I was so full from dinner I could hardly eat dessert. If you eat alot of food, the DDP is for you!

Not to hijack this thread... but is there a thread which shows the DDP menus not just the full restaurant menus?

They are the same, just no appetizers. Any of the entrees and any of the single person desserts are included.

My family and I love the DDP...part of the fun for us is selecting the TS meals we are going to have and getting it all planned out. For some, this wouldn't be as fun...if you are not an advanced planner the DDP is not for you!

We have found that we do save $$ on the plan, and it's nice to be able to just order without worrying about budgeting (besaides the appetizers...which undoubtedly I still order and pay for...)

I am the planner of the family and I'm SO glad that I have the best of both worlds - DVC AND the DDP!

The Deluxe Dining Plan (DDDP) gets you the appetizer, entree and dessert. This is 3 TS per night per person and some find that alot. But, you don't neceesarily need to use a TS for each meal. Our family loves it because it gives us the flexibility to use 2 TS credits for a Signature Dining events such as Cinderellas Table, Hoop-de-Doo, California Grill, etc. We also enjoy the character breakfasts at the different resorts and parks.

So, I love the DDDP!

The regular dining plan works great for us because it is how we like to eat at Disney anyway.

We always have a sit down meal each day and a counter service meal and normally a snack, too.

Every time we go, I use the menus to make sure that the plan is still saving us money. I leave out all the things that we would not normally order (like all those desserts) and it still ends up being better in terms of cost. If that changes, we will just pay OOP for basically the same thing.

ETA: I refuse to cook on vacation. Cold breakfast in the room is the most I will do. That is part of the vacation for me.
