DDP Worth It?

I am trying to convince my DH we need to visit Disney in Sept. and it just so happens that the FDP is being offered for dates we are going!

Unfortunately the WDW site seems to be down right now so I can price out resorts.

I am trying to determine if the DDP is worth it for us? I know the QSP is out... so it's just whether we could get by on the the dining plan or need to upgrade.

My DH is a picky (read: whiny ;)) eater. Food quality can be above average, but heaven help me if he feels ripped off! :scared: IE. he'd be fine if he had Denny's type breakfast, but refuses to eat McD's ... and only for breakfast as he'll grab a burger for lunch there or a quick snack.

DH isn't big on desserts... but he LOVES apps. I think he'd like a decent breakfast, would be fine with a quickie lunch but would probably like the option of a really good dinner. I'd be fine with a longer dinner too, as it would give our DD a chance to wind down after a day at the parks. He's not one to grab fruit or a muffin on the fly for breakfast.

Is the DDP worth it for us? If it is and you all would recommend it in our case, then it comes down to booking a value and paying the difference from FDP to DDP or booking a moderate and doing so.

And just to make sure I am not misunderstanding the DDP, a sample day might be..

Wolfgang Puck Express for breakfast, Kona Cafe for lunch and Kouzzina for dinner (assuming Kouzzina isn't booked, etc.). I could also grab a funnel cake and a piece of fruit as my two snacks that day.

I do understand that certain restaurants (character breakfasts, for example) require two credits.

TIA!

If you want appetizers and/or more than one table service a day, you will need the Deluxe Dining Plan.

Everybody is different. The dining plan just doesn't work for us. The deluxe plan is way too much food for us; the regular plan has us eating 2 desserts a day (one with counter service and one with table service) and we just are not dessert eaters.

You should pick out the places you really want to eat and then see if there's a plan that fits your dining style.

It sounds like you're looking at the Deluxe Dining Plan that includes 3 dining credits/2 snack credits a night/pp (also comes with the refillable mug). We tried the DlxDDP this past December and we loved it :goodvibes. We always had the basic DDP and thought the deluxe would be too much food, but we did fine with all the credits and didn't feel like we were spending all of our time in restaurants either ;). Dinner shows and signature restaurants are 2 TS credits, with most character meals being only 1 TS credit (CRT being one exception). If your DH likes appetizers and doesn't go for the quick grab-n-go breakfast, I think the deluxe plan would work out well for you :). Good luck deciding and happy planning :wizard:.
