Hi All-

Fairly new here, but have been lurking for a while. I am going in December with my two boys, they will be almost 3 and 19 months. I was going to get the DDP as I want to take them to a few character meals. It would be just for me, as they are both free. Is it worth it? Will I have enough food at each of the non character meals for all of us to share? Or will I end up paying for a lot of food out of pocket anyways? Everyone always talks about how much food it is, but I am wondering if it is enough for all of us and will I be able to find things that we all like to share?

Thanks for your opinions...

Well, at the buffets, your kids will be able to eat whatever is available to all diners, so there are certainly kid friendly picks there.

For menu driven restaurants, you'll get an appetizer, entree, dessert and non alcoholic beverage for yourself. If you think that you can feed 2 kids and yourself from that food, you'll be fine. However, I'm not sure that most little kids (especially a 19 month old) will like the kind of adult options you might pick.

In that case, you might want to purchase a single kids meal and have them split it. Also, when eating lunch, you're going to get a single adult meal (which could be a double burger, chicken/ribs, wrap sandwich, etc.). I'm not sure that you could feed 3 people from that, but then again, depending on the appetite of your little ones (and yourself) maybe. Otherwise, you'll have to purchase perhaps a kids meal for them to split (and of course they would need a drink).

I guess I would consider the cost of the DDP for you and then figure out what you would really pay if you did it OOP. Would you save enough to make it worthwhile? If you do buffets, you are not going to pay for the kids anyway, so your only cost is for you. So you have to see what you would do for lunch/snack and see if it's worth it for you.

I feel like it would be more then enough to feed me and 2 kids, I have DS whom is 4, we still split everything (except McD's) and both have plenty of food, he is a good eater too. I always make sure at disney I have a cup of fruit with me for him and a nutri grain bar just incase, that is usually not eaten. Fruit I open while waiting for the meal.
