DDP with DVC stay

Our son will not quite be three when we go to WDW. I was wondering if it's still possible to purchase the dining plan for him. Is it correct that if you're staying in a DVC resort you don't even have to purchase park tickets to purchase the DDP? If so then am I able to buy the DDP for my son even though he won't have a park ticket? Who do I ask and be sure that I'm getting a reliable answer? When we've made some of our ADR's some of the CM's have not even known some basic things like being able to make an ADR for 180 + 10 days if you're staying on proprety--I don't trust their answers--not that I've asked them this question.

They do if they eat off of our plate or at buffets. Our son eats a lot and would enjoy the kids meals--especially when he sees his 4 yr old cousin having a kid's meal of his own. I'm sure we'd spend much more than the cost of the DDP paying for the counter service meals and meals at the table service restaurants that aren't buffets.

Actually I just added it up and since we're doing 4 buffets and 1 TS without the kids it is cheaper to buy the kids meals out of pocket. I didn't know the kids meals were so reasonable. They're just $4 for CS and $7.50 for TS if the prices on allearsnet.com menus are current. I had heard that they were about $6 and if you add in a snack around $4 per day I thought it would be worth it for the DDP. Since we have 4 buffets where he is free and the one TS he won't go to, it doesn't make sense to do the DDP after all. I still wonder about the answer though as to whether it is possible? Just for closure I guess...

The only way to possible to do this would be to purposely state his dob as earlier than acutal. In other words, state that he is 4 years old at time of travel.

There are others on the DDP plan boards that wanted to get and 'Adult DDP' for their 8 & 9 year old big eaters, and were told that they could do that if they were stated as the child to be '10 years old' at time of travel, even though they were not. But then they would end up with Adult tickets etc...

I was going to suggest, when reading the beginning of this thread, to pay OOP for 3 year old's meals, as I finished reading, you also discovered it made the most sense to pay OOP...

I have added a 2 yr old on the DDP. I told MS that he was a big eater, it was not a problem to add him on. Then by mistake they added his 10 mo old brother on, another MS CM caught this last week and changed it to what I originally wanted.

I just made our fall ressies and the CM actually ASKED me if we wanted the DDP for our dd who will be 2 at the time of travel - and just barely 2, not even close to 3. She said that they add that on all the time.

If it's about break even and you're getting the DDP for others, I'd add the 2 year old as well. Remember for the places and times that don't have kids meals, you can get any applicable item, plus you'll have the snack option.

could you elaborate on the 180 + 10? Does that mean you can book ADR @ 190 days out? Thanks for your help? We are staying on property.

180 days before the first day of your trip you can book ADR's for your entire stay (up to ten days) if you stay on property.
