We will be going to WDW in Dec. but have purchased pts. from a DVC member and are staying @ AKL. Would we have had to book ourselves directly through Disney Res. for the DDP? If I understand correctly, the DVC member booked the DDP for me already and we pay at check-in.
Also, if the Free DDP were to be extended through Dec. to the general public would I be able to receive it through the DVC member or would I be locked into the initial DDP booked?
Thanks,
Michael

The member you are renting points from has to call member services and add the ddp to your reservation.

DVC members are not eligible for free dining, only those paying rack rate.

Sorry, but no, you would not get free dining. If you stay on points you do not get free dining. You would have to book the trip yourself and pay cash to get free dining.

The DVC member must call and add it to the reservation.

DDP points stays are not eligible for "free dining". That is a promotion for guests paying rack rate for accommodations in lieu of other discounts.
