DDP - Was it worth it??

The short answer is yes! I've just been through all of our receipts from our holiday back in April and tallied up how much we spent at the restaurants and how much the DDP was.

We ate at the following table service restaurants -

Hollywood and Vine
1900 park fare
Coral Reef
Rose and Crown
Luau Dinner
Crystal Palace
Tutto Italia
Chef Mickeys
Yak and Yeti
Le Cellier
Boma
The Wave
Sanaa

Along with all the counter service meals and snacks between 2 of us we spent $1,200 on food and drink for 2 weeks. Taking the exchange rate as $1.50 for £1 that's £800 worth of food and drink for a DDP cost of just £560.

So we saved £240, but we did pay £115 of tips, however we did also have 6 counter service credits left over too.

So if you're prepared, and get a few high value meals in like le cellier and the wave then the DDP is well worth the money.

Also worth remembering that you can probably lose 2-3 days of meals on Disney and still break even. So if you're going to be off to universal or wherever you might still want to consider the DDP and do a couple of 2xTS credit meals to make up for it.

Only downside was that our holiday was largely dictated by wherever our dinner was booked, but it didn't cause too many problems. So I hope this helps some people decide whether they want to sign up to the DDP or not!

Oh what a bargain lol

I am so excited about having disney dining :D

I'm really looking forward to it - now we'll be able to eat at WDW every day rather than just once or twice on our trip as a special treat

we got free dining so even more of a bargin, i cant wait eating at places we would never have paid for

I love the dining plan and am doing the deluxe plan this year. Virgin are not going to like me on the plane back though.

:lmao::lmao:

We love the dining plan for that reason!

We would never TS at Disney everyday for the DDP - its great :goodvibes
