Was wondering if someone could help me out...We will be travelling w/ friends on our next trip to WDW. We are staying in the same room, so our DDP will be linked. When we go out to eat and it comes time to leave the tip, can we each charge a portion of the tip to sep. credit cards???
If anyone has any experience with this, I would love your input.
Thanks in advance!

I think the only way to do this would be to ask for two separate checks and one couple give their key and the other give theirs even though it is the same dining plan. Could you guys alternate doing tips at each meal? I guess some could be more but if you looked the places and tried to split up the most expensive meals it would probably be about equal in the end.

Why not alternate like mentioned above, you pay the first meal, frends pay the second and so on and at the end of the trip maybe you can even up. There is enought trouble with the tipping system there that you may be both charged the 18 or 20 %.:cool1: :hippie:

Thanks for your suggestions! I guess we will either ask for sep checks or just take turns paying the tips :)

You can also bring cash and figure out your tip and either pay it in cash (and your friends do the same) or give it to your friends and let them charge it. If you're worried about paying tip on only what you eat this seems like it would be the easiest solution.

I wouldn't do this at all. If I read what you've written correctly, you are asking can you put 2 credit cards on "deposit" for your room card, which is NO.

You are wanting to do this because you want to charge your tips to your room and settle up at check out.

I think this is a really bad idea. I'd have NO charging privileges at all to avoid possible confusion between you and your friends. Use cash, it will be the easiest. Sure, you can always use your cc at the table to tip, which is what I'd recommend. You don't want to leave any room for any miscommunication...."...well we paid 20% at 3 restaurants and you only did 15%, you owe us......" just say no charging to the room and settle your own bills.

That's my opinion anyway/

I was thinking about this earlier for myself, actually.

My suggestion would be to do some math and estimate how much you will spend total for all tips/alcoholic beverages/etc. and then split the cost of a Visa giftcard or Visa travel moneycard, putting on it what your estimate was. (Just be sure to keep close track of usage. If you try to run it through for more than is on there, it will decline.) Use that for those expenses, and then at the end of the trip if there is anything left on the card, take it to one of the shops and each of you purchase an extra souvenir. :thumbsup2

I think that as long as you all agree on a plan, you'll be fine. :grouphug:
