Can anyone tell me if there is an advantage of DDP vs. TIW?

Any advice wil be helpful...

Sam

These are two very different programs. I'm not sure you can compare them.

The DDP is essentially a pre-paid meal plan. How well it works for you depends on your dining habits and how much you eat.

TIW (better known as the Disney Dining Experience) is a card that gets you a 20% discount on your entire meal (including alcohol) at most table service restaurants.

You can only purchase the TiW card if you either have an annual pass or if you are a Florida resident. The price for annual pass holders is $75. The price for FL residents is $100. Either way you receive a 20% discount on your entire purchase including alcohol. The DDP credits never include alcohol.

Also, the DDP includes CS restaurants, no matter which plan you get (QSDP is all CS places, basic is 1CS per night, and deluxe is 3 credits per night which could be either CS or TS, your choice). DDP also includes snack credits, TiW card is not good for snacks. TiW includes mostly TS restaurants, and very few CS places.

If you are an AP holder and/or a FL resident and go often, the TiW card may be for you. I believe it is good for one year so you could use it on multiple trips. It is also good if you plan all or mostly TS meals. It is also accepted at character meals which is nice.

The best way to figure out which is a better option for you is to sit down and do some math.

Look at the menus on allears.net. Figure out where you're likely to eat and price out what everything is going to cost based off of examples of things you might order.
Then see how much the DDP will save you. Also, on the DDP you're eating TS for lunch. Would you normally do that without a DP?

If you're like me and like to eat at a lot of signatures for dinner but go to CS for lunch, the TIW is a better option.

Like a pp mentioned, Remember that TIW is only an option for FL residents and AP holders. Also keep in mind the the majority of CS locations do NOT take TIW.

Like I said, you can really only figure this out with a giant, complex math problem. So hope you're good with numbers! :rotfl:
