We are around the corner from our trip and we have deluxe dining booked. As we approach, it is looking like this is a lot of food, and I have signatures booked and the hoopdedoo.

I am waivering going back to DDP, has anyone found it is just too much leftover credits? I have it all planned out and I still have 6 credits left. Also, how long do I have to switch my plans?

Thanks in advance.

Hi - I really think that Deluxe is a lot of food, but it's definitely the plan that gives you the most for the money. If you are using most of the credits on signatures, then you should be able to easily book those other credits. Breakfasts and lunches should be easy to book to use your credits, but your should book them now.

I think you will like the deluxe. . . it's really nice :)

We were in the same situation.

We were thinking about switching back to the basic DDP, but then we remembered that there is no appetizer included on the basic.

We also wanted to try the sig restaurants.

So we booked 2 meals a day most days, early lunch and later signature dinners.
We did breakfast on a few days, but we're not big breakfast eaters and breakfast does not give a very good value compared to other meals.

Our final decision has been to go with the deluxe!

I think there is a fee for changing your plan back down if you are within 45 days?

Whatever you decide...

Have a great trip!!!:wizard:

We were there July 28-Aug 4 & did signature dining & the Luau and still had 15 TS credits left. We were 2 adults, 2 children. We just couldn't force ourselves to eat anymore food. We never ate 3 meals in one day. We tried to spread the meals out like early lunch, late dinner & we still weren't hungry. By the end of the week my husband said he was tired of eating! I'm glad we did the deluxe b/c we tried alot of different restaurants. I would love to see a dining plan with 2 TS meals so we could just eat breakfast & dinner.

Use some of those credits for 2TS room service, treat yourself and no worries as you'll have them to spend. Just order one meal and share to get your day started or have a low stress dinner at home one night.

There is a penatly to make the change back to Basic if you are within 45 days of your trip. It may be $50.

I would not stress over the credits you may pick up a counter service here or there.

we are doing signiture meals almost every night and either breakfast or an early lunch during the day, and will use snack credits if we get hungry in between. we can't wait! I say it can't hurt to try it once!

If you have less than 45 days it will cost you $100 or $50 to down grade. I wouldn't give up the meals and the cash, stay put and have a great time.

After spending a weekend talking about it and looking at the credits, we decided to do the regular dining plan, 1.) because we are notbig breakfast or lunch eaters...we tend to eat on the go. And 2.)we talked about how there were some places outside WDW we enjoyed and do not have around our home for dining options. (Chevy's, Orlando Ale House). So we decided to stick with the classic. I think the plan is wonderful, it just seemed like a lot of restaurant time.

Hope I do not regret it. Thanks for all the input.

In your original post you indicated you had the Deluxe booked. In the most recent you said you decided on the Basic. Are you under 45 days? If so you will pay a change penalty of at least $50.

No, we just hot the 90 day mark, so we were fine, and I have to be honest I am only cancelling one of our breakfasts (1900 Park Fair). The rest of our plans fit within the Dining Plan. We are checking out early on Saturday, so that frees up some credits we were planning on using Saturday.

Maybe an adults only trip is in order for the Deluxe trip.:yay:

Thanks for all the advice.

I would go with the deluxe. That's what I have on my trip, and I am doing mostly two meals a day, one early, and one late, so I should have plenty of time between my meals that I don't make myself sick.

I think the snack credits will be good for breakfast and lunch on days when I don't have a breakfast and lunch booked, and if I'm not hungry at all, I can always use them for water.

This is basically how my days are.

Breakfast @ 8:00
Dinner @ 5:00 - 6:00

or

Lunch @ 11:00 - 12:00
Dinner @ 8:00 - 9:00

So there are like eight or nine hours between meals, which I don't think is too much food. And you don't have to order dessert or an appetizer at every meal, and at buffets you don't have to pig out.

There are a few days I have three meals planned, but they are always with character breakfasts, which I don't really go to for the food.

We did the deluxe dining plan and did room service twice and the Hoop de Doo and the Luau which were all 2 TS credits each and we actually booked an extra room only night at our resort because we had 13 leftover meals. We ended up using TS meals for snacks which was a waste. I think though if you can afford the deluxe plan it's worth it for the convenience.
