DDP vs. DDE

I have been reading on the boards about these different dining plans. I am familiar with Disney Dining Plan, but I did a search on Disney Dining Esperience (DDE?) and I can't find any information on it on the Disney World site.

I just read another thread that mentioned the two plans. They mentioned something about needing an AP to purchase DDE?

Can someone please help me know the difference or tell me where to go find out about it?

Thanks.

P.S. We have been to Disney World about 50 times -- and we still discover new things every trip!!

You do need the AP to purchase the DDE card. The card will provide a 20% discount on most table service restaurants and can be used for up to 10 guests. The discount applies to food and adult beverages. The card is usually good for 13 months from when you order it.

I can't remember the number to order, but I did a search once and found it on the boards.

Good luck with making your decision.

Thank you! Thank you!

We are of the type that buy an annual pass for Dec. to Dec. then wait a year and purchase another. We missed this Christmas, but plan to be back Dec. 2007. A 20% discount sounds great. So does only one person have to buy it and can save with 10 people eating? That does sound like a deal!

Thanks for the info!

Yes, one card is good for up to 10 people. They must all be on the same check. Unless it went up Jan 1 (I haven't heard) the DDE is $60 an additional spouse/partner card is $25.

It is good for 20% discount on virtually all Table Service and Buffet restaurants that are operated by Disney, and I think all privately run World Showcase restaurants also accept it (perhaps not the Japan pavilion?). Counter Service restaurants at Animal Kingdom and the Value Resorts also accept the DDE.

Most Disney operated lounged also accept the DDE. You must be a FL resident OR an annual passholder to order the DDE.
