Okay, I'm a little confused here (as my husband would say, what else is new? =) We're going in Sept and are seriously contemplating whether to get the DDP, whether it's free or not. The only part I'm having trouble with is the table service credits. I know you get an appetizer, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage with every credit. As far as the entree goes, is it any entree listed by that restaurant? I just didn't know if you could have your pick of entrees or if there are a few pre-selected ones that you can choose from? Thanks!

As far as I recall, yes, you may choose anything on the menu.

I can't think of anywhere the entree itself was limited. There were a few places where add on's (like adding a side order of shrimp to your entree at Spoodles), appetizer and dessert sampler platters for two (Spoodles again, and Le Cellier), or specialty items (sushi at Wolfgang Puck's, entree sized salads as appetizers) were excluded. But in the vast majority of of the restaurants, if you look over the menu's here on the DIS or at www.allearsnet.com, you will be allowed to order anything off the menu.

We had the same concern before we went, and wouldn't have bothered with the DDP if we'd been forced to order from a more limited menu (much like the Planet Hollywood coupon that came with last year's package. Burger, caesar salad or pasta only--no thanks!).

You can have absolutely anything on the menu. That's what is so great about the DDP. It's also why I will not ever go again without it.

Some have Steak and shrimp can you get that???

Yes!

There are a very few excluded items, check the DDP FAQ, I am pretty sure it lists them. Actually that was 2006, it is possible those items are no longer excluded. I think it was lobster at the place in Japan (Epcot WS) and some items at one of the DTD non-Disney owned places.

I remember reading that there were a few exceptions. Entrees that you can't get on the dining plan. BUt they were very few and the most expensive of some of the entrees. I am trying to remember where I read that now.....
