DDP Question

We are arriving at WDW in two weeks. And are sitting here trying to figure out our meals. We like eating in the villas as much as possible to save $$, but are finding that this trip will be busy with family joining in and the MNSSHP.

We have two sets of room reservations. One night using our AP discount at CBR and then checking into AKV the following day using our points for the duration of our trip. We just joined DVC this past spring and this will be our first experience combining stays (Non-DVC/DVC).

Questions:

1.) Can we link the two reservations together?

2.) Is it too close to the arrival date to add the DDP?

3.) If we can add on the DDP, can we just add on 2 days of it?

4.) We are thinking if yes, then we can hopefully stretch the meals out on the busy days of our trip. Would a 2 day DDP extend over the duration of the trip?

Any help would be appreciated!! It looks like I may need to place a call to MS :goodvibes

1) No. Linking is done when you're in the room type at the same resort, so you won't have to move. You have to move anyway. Is there some other meaning of linking that you mean? As for DDP, they are two different reservations.
2) No, not for the points ressie. You can add it up to 48 hours in advance. I don't know how adding it to the cash ressie works.
3 & 4) No. You have to get DDP for every one on the ressie, for every day of the ressie. If you did have two different ressies (not linked), you could do it for just one of the ressies, but then it would end on midnight of the last day of THAT ressie.

I'd think that DDP is definitely not worth it in your case.

I agree with the above answers and given your stated intent of eating in as much as possible AND of saving money, DDP isn't conducive to either. Unless you have only 3 or 4 days at DVC, have one or more children in the 3-9 age range or have multiple upper level single service reservations like Le Cellier; I doubt the regular DP is a reasonable choice for you regardless of cost. The quick service plan might have some merit depending on other specifics but still probably not. I think some are simply in love with the idea of using the DP options rather than any of them being a reasonable choice for their situation.
