DDP question

Hi all-
Heading down next week for our first ever stay at VWL! Because I am Disney crazy, I decided we needed to go down one night early and stay at WL in a standard room since I found a great rate online, and the airfare was better if we flew in the night before (and then we could get to the parks early, yada yada, you all know how the justification thing works, lol) Anyway, I want to add the Dining plan, can I add it to my points reservation only or do I have to add it to the first night in WL? I don't want to since we won't arrive until around 9 pm but I'm not sure how this works.

Yes, you can add the dining plan to your points reservation only, because they are 2 seperate reservations. Have a great trip!!

In order to get the DDP with a regular reservation, you'd need to book three nights (I'm trying to remember) at rack rate, plus get the tickets. In other words a package. One night at a great rate would not equal a package. But since you are not arriving until later than night, you don't really need the extra night on the plan. Make sure you call MS at least three to five days ahead of time to add it to your points reservation.

Be sure to check out the breakfast plate at Roaring Forks. Not a bad meal for a QS credit.

I'm really confused now. I just talked to a CM last week and she told me that I could purchase the DDP when I arrived even if I purchased my tickets already. I purchased my tickets from another vendor. She said it's OK because I'm a DVC memeber.

You can't add DDP at check in. You must have it on your reservation before you check in. If you have a DVC reservation, you pay for it when you check in, but it must already be listed on your reservation.

The ticket purchase is not relevant. You don't have to buy tickets at all to add DDP to a DVC reservation. That requirement is for a package reservation at a regular resort.

As noted, you can get it for the points nights but not the cash night since this is a CRO reservation then a separate DVC reservation. As noted, you must add it to your DVC reservation prior to arrival. IF you do, get up early and go to the front desk and "check in" for your DVC stay. That way you can start using your DDP for the first day from that moment on.
