how does the waiters figure the people on DDP and the ones paying cash? I have 11 people 9 are on DDP and 2 are not. I have a teenager that will live on mac and cheese 99% of the time, So when we order can we OP for his mac and Cheese and use his credit towards the 10th persons meal. When they total up the bill will each room us two ccredits and the ones not covered just become OP. I am very confused on how this works.

Ok, if you tell the waiter "Bob and Billy (your teenager) are paying OOP."
The rest of us are on the DDP. Here are our cards." Then the waiter will take off the credits.
IF the total number of people on your cards matches the total number of people paying with DDP (including the one you exchange for mac and cheese eating teen) you should be fine.

The waiter won't know who is who.

Your only problem might come if you have a) People on your cards who are not in attendance, causing you to have to differentiate who is on what card, or b) are attempting to swap a child credit for an adult, which they will not let you do.

Hope that helps. I'll try and explain more if you need it.

ETA: They will automatically add gratuity to the OP tickets, since your party is larger.

that helped me better understand I think now all reservations are for adults and so are all resort reservations no kids, we have never done DDP and didn't even know how it works when it comes to paying. We would only do it if all of us are together and the teens want nothing much to eat why waste the credit.

Dining credits are supposed to only be used for the people in the room they were purchased for. All people in the room must be registered. All people registered in the room must be on the dining plan. So if you are talking about treating people who are not on the registration with your DDP that is not allowed. However as the above poster said the waiter won't know who is who if you dont tell them you are intending to use the credits other than as was intended.

You just get seated and tell the waiter you are using ddp and persons x and y will not be using the ddp. They then take the appropriate number of credits off your room card. You can not exceed the number of people on your card.
