DDP question

We are a family w/ 6 adults and 2 children. Since 2 of the adults are very picky and/or very light eaters only 4 adults and 1 child will have the dining plan. We will pay oop for my 3 year old and for the other 2 adults if they decide to join us at a TS. My question is can my 3 year old who eats very little just not order anything or just something small (like soup) but still share some of my older son's dinner. At home DS 6 will usually share some of his french fries, etc. with DS3 as it would be a waste to order a whole plate of french fries for DS3. I guess what I'm asking is if DS6 has food he's not going to eat can we let my DS3 eat the rest or will this not be allowed.

Also is the DDP name specific or just adult specific. Meaning that if my 19 y/o niece who is staying in our room, decided to skip a TS dinner could we bring my mother that night instead and use a TS for her. We will be paying for an adult TS that would otherwise go waste, so I was just wondering if this would be allowed or will they ask for I.D.?

Lastly, sorry this is getting so long. If those who are not on the DDP come with us to dinner and we order appetizers are they not allowed to share because they are not on the DDP?

Thank you - I've never done the ddp and don't want to do anything unethical but just wanted to understand how it works. Thanks for your help.

Assuming that the 2 adults and one child not doing the plan will be on a separate reservation because if you are all on the same reservation, you all need to have the DDP..... If you all go to a meal together, you'll tell them that 4 A/1C are on the DDP and 2 A/1C are not. They'll give you a bill for the items that the people not on the plan order and charge you TS credits for the rest of the party. As far as sharing once the orders are placed, sure. Disney isn't going to grab forks out of people's mouths and prevent them from sharing food at TS or CS restaurants. I wouldn't attempt to go in and order 4A/1C meal and have 6A/2 C eat the food though unless you are buying 3 additional meals OOP at a TS restaurant (or drinks, salads,or entrees etc). Remember at buffets, character meals, etc, everyone is charged.

Disney does not ask for ID, but the plan is not transferable. If you are all together, there is nothing to stop your niece from passing the meal to your mom after ordering but the credits are supposed to be used for those on your reservation.

Thanks for your help. I guess it would just be easier if everyone would just be on the plan, but nothing is ever simple when we are travelling with the whole family:) Thanks I am learning a lot from everyone.

Since your mother isn't staying in your room, sorry, but no. Here's the relevant part of the brochure:

From the Dining Plan FAQ:
There is no clear answer to this. Consistently, guests seem to be allowed to share the meals ordered on the Dining Plan amongst the guests at their table, with the exception of fixed price meals, such as buffets or other all-you-can-eat options. However, this question was been asked directly to Disney via email, by a number of guests, and consistently, they have answered this question by saying specifically that, "sharing is not permitted." At this time, it is not clear as to whether Guest Communications is putting out a valid or invalid policy, since our sources in Disney Dining say unofficially that there is no "no sharing" policy, and it appears that if there is such a policy, most or perhaps all restaurants are waiving that policy for most or perhaps all of their guests. Despite several attempt to get clarification about that statement, no clarification appears to be forthcoming from Guest Communications, and nothing official has been released by Disney Dining to resolve the confusion.
I wish we had a more definitive answer for you.
