I know you can get the DDP if you RENT from an owner, but what about if you are staying DVC through a time share trade? AND do you have to purchase it for every day of your stay?

We are exchanging for the week of our 3 day cruise and will only be staying four or five nights, even though the exchange may be for a full week. Would we be better off modifiying the trade 'parameters' to be specifically Sat through Thursday stay? I know DVC initially offered us a Sun-Thu exchange, but we were hoping to get Sat night, hence expecting it to be for a full week.

If we can get the dining plan, we may be better off 'settling' for a Sunday-Thursday exchange and just booking a value or mod for the single, Sat night.

Thanks!

I thought al II trades were considered a full week reservation :confused3

And yes, it has to be for all nights of the reservatio, so if it is a 7 full weel reservation, the DDP has to be for the full week, whether you occupy the room of not.

I thought so too! But DVC offered my friend a Sun-Thu date within days of her putting up the exchange. We passed at that time, as she already had exchanged one for a FRIDAY arrival for another unit. Perhaps we should consider the shorter exchange if we are going to do the DDP (we'll be putting that up for a vote soon).

So you CAN get DDP as and 'exchange' person?

Yes, you CAN get it by paying the $39/person/day for it, but for the total duration of the trip.

If your friend has Club Intrawest or Club Cordial AND traded in directly through BVTC, they may indeed have it for a shorter period. If it's through II, they will have 7 days but can stay less if they want but the reservation will be for an entire week. If the reservation is for a week but the party only stays 4-5 days, they will still owe the extra $95 resort services fee AND will have to get the DDP for the full 7 days for all in the party.
