DDP question

We purchased the DDP for our upcoming trip. I've already booked our dinners (Trails End, Hoop-Dee-Doo, Mickeys's BBQ, Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon). We ended up with one extra dinner because one night we will be at Sea World. I am wondering if I can trade my full service meals for counter service meals that day ?? Or can you use a full service meal as a breakfast buffet ?? That might be fun one morning.

We plan on doing breakfast each morning at our campsite and then going to The Lodge for lunches, other than the day we will be at MK.

Does this sound like a good plan ?? The DDP is new to me and I'm not sure it is worth having to schedule everything ahead of time...

Buffets count as TS meals, so you could use the spare credits for a breakfast buffet. As for trading I know that they were offering it a while back as there was a thread on it over on the dining board, but I'm not sure if they still do, or not. The folks over on the Dining Board would be able to answer that one better than I can.

Im not sure how many days you have the dining plan for . Keep in mind Hoop Dee Doo is a 2 meal plan ticket where most other meals are one. You can also book a meal elsewhere. Just because it's a sit down meal doesn't mean it has to be done at dinner. You can use it for lunch too. If you want a charcter meal you can do chef mickeys at the contempory resort. That is only 1 meal ticket. You can also use 2 sit down meal tickets in the same day. They dont say you can only use 1 per day. Heck you can use them all up in 1 day if you want. It is worth planning ahead as now when you get there it will be all done and no wasting time there.

I looked at the dining forum...thanks I forgot all about that board !! I did ask over there if they have ice cream as a snack at the Fort....anyone here know ??

You can go to the Meadow Trading Post for snacks on the plan - they do have ice cream...!

The BBQ is 2 coupons as well (I think). You might end up having to pay for one as things stands, depending on your number of nights.

We are there for 6 nights and I believe I ended up paying for Hoop-Dee-Doo OOP because I could get better seating that way (category one seats). So we had 6 TS meals and we used 2 for the Mickey's Backyard BBQ, 1 trail's end, 1 crystal palace, 1 wilderness lodge restaurant then there is the Hoop-Dee-Doo (out of pocket) and the night we are going to be at Sea World.

So I think I end up with one night extra for the TS meals. It is my understanding that we can use it for a breakfast or lunch somewhere along the way.

Our two favorites are Goofys Character Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern (MK), and the Princess Breakfast at Akerhsus in EPCOT...!!

You can use your credits however (within the rules) and whenever (during your stay) you like!
