DS(11) still prefers kids meals. I booked us at Le Cellier and Coral Reef for dinner, where there isn't anything on the adult menu he would like. Can he use his adult credits on kids meals? Or, will the restaurant make something else -- such as a larger burger and sell it as an adult meal?

I cannot imagine why not, but I would not want to order a $8 kids meal when paying $30 + per day for the adult meals per day

Yes, i have done this with my 14 yr old. He didn't like the adult menu at rose and crown.

I agree, what a waste of money. We take our grandson often and he is a Disney adult. He gets his meals modified. If he eats at Coral Reef, he usually gets the NY steak and gets fries or baked potatoe. Most places will prepare the meal without the spices and sauces and different side items. This works for my grandson all of the time. At LeCellier he get the filet (w bbq sauce) but has the sauce on the side and the filet plain, with french fries. He does indeed enjoy getting the adult deserts and adult appetizers which is always a ceasar salad or shrimp. If your child get the kids meal, make sure they at least make a adult serving out of it.

My daughter did last year with no problem at all the restaurants we went to. She sometimes got the adult meal and the children's dessert or the Children's meal with an adult dessert. Same with appetizers. ;)

Why not pay OOP for the kids meal and save your son's adult TS for a special dinner at a place like Narcoosee's for you and hubby?

I think this is what I would do. Kids meals are so cheap and the dining plan is alot of food so dessert and appy can be shared with him anad you pay oop for the kids meal. Then maybe you could use his two extra credits for a lunch for all of you (paying OOP for him again) or enjoy sig dining one of the nights instead.:goodvibes

I was thinking of doing something like that. Im accually going to get him a CS dinner for 3 of our nights, before we go to dinner and maybe just buy him a desert , then we will have the 3 extra credits for a breakfast. There is really nothing he would eat at those 3 resturants and he is accually happier with the CS. The rest of the nights are buffets.

That's definitely the way to go. You'll have plenty of appetizer and dessert between you and your husband to share with your son, so you might be able to save on buying a seperate desert for him too.

It seems like it will work out pretty good because on our first day we have an early lunch at sci-fi which we are paying oop for. so we wont be using our CS for lunch that day as we normally would, so that gives me the 3 that I need for him to eat dinner those 3 nights;) We also have a 2 1/2 y/o but he eats like a bird. I spent so much time planning my dining that I am just now planning my park days, Can you say "planning OCD"?:rotfl2: Really if it wasn't for the DIS I wouldnt know what to do, this is our first time onsite and with free dining to boot!:cool1:
