As I start to plan my next trips ADR'S I find out that I do seem to have very
expensive taste. I seem to really like signature restaurants,I just not sure they are worth 2 TS credits. I am definetely will go to Jiko(best meal I ever had) I am really looking forward to eating at Citricos and after looking at their menu I think it deserves to be a signature restaurant. Narcoose's was good last time I ate there good lobster is definetely worth 2 credits .I am just having trouble deciding if I should pay OOP for some of the restaurants I want to try- Artist Point- I have never eaten there and really want to but
when I look at their menu I see I can order a 3 course meal for $46.00 .I could eat at Le Cellier twice and I am sure I would get more than $46.00 worth of food. I also enjoyed CG but my (yummy pork tenderloin)entree was $24.99 and the dessert wasn't that great so I could probably do without it and pay OOP. Then there is Brown Derby which is very good and I usually book the Fantasmic package with it,but I would never use 2 TS credits there. I am wondering if anyone else feels that some of the signature restaurants are not worth using 2 TS credits and pay OOP if they want to eat there or am I just crazy and need therapy.
Thanks!!!!!!!:)

Citricos is a signature restaurant. It requires 2 TS. We had our vow renewal dinner there and it was very good.

I believe the objective of charging 2TS for signature restuarants is to limit the extent to which Dining Plan folks dominate the restaurants' clientele. None of them can compare to the value per credit you get at most of the 1TS restaurants.

I believe that bicker is right that the "signature" designation is not based on price/value, but is to limit the number of DDP guests vs OOP guests -- although I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe to give the restaurant a less busy, more "low key" atmosphere? Fewer large families with small children eating there, so it's more "romantic" or "adult"? :confused3

But if you are interested in the value per credit, you really have to look at the menus and figure out what you are likely to order (all prices are not including tax and tip).

Jiko:
appetizer: $7-$13
entree: $14-$34
dessert: $8
non-alcoholic beverage: $3 (just a guess)
total: $32-$58

Citrico's:
appetizer: $8-$12
entree: $23-$36
dessert: $8-$12
non-alcoholic beverage: $3
total: $42-$63

Artist Point:
Fixed price dinner- $46
or
appetizer: $8-$13
entree: $21-$32
dessert: $7-$9
non-alcoholic beverage: $3
total: $39-$57

And just for comparison:
Wolfgang Puck Cafe (1 TS)
appetizer: $5-$15
entree: $11-$35
dessert: $7-$8
non-alcoholic beverage: $3
total: $26-$61

Le Cellier (1 TS)
appetizer: $5-$12
entree: $16-$28
dessert: $6-$13
non-alcoholic beverage: $3
total: $30-$56

The most expensive dinner at WPC is as much or more than the most expensive dinners at those signature restaurants, and a LOT more than the least expensive dinners at the 2 TS places. Le Cellier's least expensive menu items are considerably less than Citrico's or Artist Point least expensive menu items, but their most expensive items would be right in line with those 2 TS places. And of course, if you are paying OOP, you might not actually order appetizer and dessert at every restaurant. So just compare menus, figure out what you'd actually order, and enjoy! ::yes::
