We are a family of 5 2 adults 3 kids ages 5, 3, & 2. Should I do the DDP or just use the DDE? I get meal plans for all of my kids because of the snack factor. However sometimes we do 2 sit downs a day and then we are left over with a lot of counter services and I have to pay cash for some of my table dinners. I am confused on what to do on my upcoming trip.

Are you an AP holder? Only AP holders can purchase the DDE card (and Florida residents and cast members). So if you're not an AP holder, that will help you make your decision. I use both the DDE and DDP and love them both in their own way. We always use them as a combo for all meals.

Yes we are AP holders so I was going to purchase a DDE card so you are saying to use both?

Are you okay with the investment in tickets that the DDP requires?

It sounds like DDE would work well for you.

Using both works for us, but may not work for others. The best thing to do is look at the menus and decide it you plan to do a TS everyday. We make many trips a year so having both options works well for us. Like others said, if you get the DDP are you a DVC member or will you be buying a package. Since you have an AP, you are still required to buy tickets with your package. There are alot of factors to consider.

I am a DVC member and I am going to buy annual passes for my upcoming trip in Nov and then I will go back in July. I think I will buy the DDE card and use it for my extra table services. It should work out I hope.

DDE if you are light eaters(no apps or deserts needed), or plan on doing mostly TS. To me the 20% is just saving the tip, but not having to get all the extra food is helpful too.

DP if you can make use of the CS even if you are going to use them for breakfast and a few lunches. The TS's can always be split. 2 adults do not have to order 2 complete meals-exceptions are the buffets ofcourse where everyone pays. Other thing even if you plan on doing more TS and can make uses of a few CS's...is that many lunch TS can qualify for a AP 10% discount...besure to check this out-what restaurants participate.

To me the DP is fantastic...I split our Apps with our children who are 2 weeks away from 9yo on our last trip. And counter cs lunches I would also split with 1 child...leaving a credit for breakfast(at Broadway bakery or the BC marketplace or MS bakery). But the true benefit comes in that the tip is included...this is a huge savings IMO. Snack credits I used to grab a bag of bagles and 2L bottles of soda for the room. We were never hungry, but never felt like I was rolling myself around either..thanks to the splitting.

Good luck in what ever you decide.
