DDP Newbie

We've never used the DDP before. So I need somebody to start from scratch and lay it out for me. How much does it cost per person per day? What does it include? What about character meals? Do you pay for everything up front? Etc. etc. etc. Anything you can think of.

2006 Prices - 37.99/day (adult), 10.99/day (3-9)
I think it is up $1/day for 2007
You will receive one each per person/per day:
Table Service Meal
Quick/Counter Service Meal
Snack (up to $4)

You must book a "package" - room and at least one park ticket for each member of your party. You can get any length ticket but need to get the package for every day (of course you must stay on-site).

Personal strong recommendations:
Snack for a breakfast item (or something you are looking foreward to)
CS Meal - lunch
TS - Dinner and make sure to make ADRs so that you will get into the restaurants that you want to eat at.
Look at the menus on allearsnet to decide where to eat.

Because you have to buy a package you will have to pay a $200 deposit at booking and then pay in full 45 days before hand (I make sure I do at least 47 so there are no "surprises or mistakes".

I booked our rooms already. Can I add the DDP to that or do I have to buy park tickets first? Do they discourage sharing with kids? DD will be just turning 4 on our trip and there's no way she's going to eat $12 worth of food per day.

If you book thru a AAA travel agent you can also get a room discount. Its the only way to get a room discount and get the dining plan.
