Right ive decided the plan, Table Service but as its our first time on-site need advise.

How does evryone spend their credits, breakie & late lunch or breakie then Dinner ??? Whats avaidable for snacks??

WE love character dining and are going for 16 days so is it best to make ADR's for dinner meal??:confused3
If so and I use 1 credit for dinner what would I have left for the rest of the day???

Need to get this right :rotfl:

we have always used out TS credit for a sit down evening meal. We like to hit the park early and then back to the hotel about lunchtime ish. After a "chilled" afternoon we shower and head back to whichever park we are spening the evening so we have a TS dinner in that particular park.

Having said all that we therefore use our CS credit for lunch and our SC for whatever. I normally use mine for a Funnel cake at some point during the evening and the boys usually use theirs for popcorn during the day.

We do like to eat at the signature restaurants i.e The Brown Derby. Flying Fish and Le Cellier which take 2 TS credit so we balance this by eating OOP like The Big River Grill. This year for the 1st time we are eating at Le Cellier for a late lunch which is only 1 TS.

This year for breakfast we plan on buying some cereals and milk from the Beach Club shop and having it in our room as we all shower and get dressed.

Picking your ADR's is always fun ...... happy planning :goodvibes

Massive subject :rotfl2:

I have 21 nights of DDP starting next month see post #93 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2862163&page=7
I have tried to do a mix of our favourites and try new places.
We don't eat breakfast so we just have 1 character breakfast this year, lunch we use a Counter service credit and all(but 1) of our TS credits will be used in the evenings.

If we do want a bite to eat in the morning I will call somewhere like Main St Bakery for a cinnamon roll (1 snack credit) :cloud9:

I need to goto bed, 3:30am start or I could go on and on with this subject. :rotfl:

We try to plan out how we are going to use each of the TS credits. A couple of the meals we book are 2 credits.

If we book a TS breakfast we tend to have a snack at lunch time and CS for dinner.

Just look through the list on the Disney website that lists what places are what number of credits. Decide from there which ones you want to do and go from there.

we have always stayed off site in LBV so eaten breakfast at sizzlers or in hotel etc then headed straight to parks. Eating again in the evening.

Whats the breakfasts like at Disney are any similar to sizzlers or pondarosa and all you can eat???

I think our plans will be alot different staying on site than off:banana::banana:

We tend to do a character buffet breakfast and a Qs dinner

or early QS lunch and TS dinner

snacks - most things upto $4 are snacks we tend to use them for icecream, frozen drinks.

I do buy a few bits and bobs to have in the room for breakfast somedays eg cereal or bagels.

My 2010 dining report link is in my signature.

Disney does some lovely character breakfast buffets - lots of choice and nice quality food.

My kids are BIG breakfast eaters so for us, 2 character breakfasts would be our choice for two TS meals. We used CS for breakfast every day as it was CSR and the pepper market buffet was great.

We then use snack credits for "lunch" and TS at night. We never really felt hungry the whole trip and despite bringing 30 bags of candy home we still had 31 snack credits left over!!

This is our third time with DDP

On previous trips we have always shared a counter service credit for breakfast and lunch some days we would have one each when we spare from days we had been at universal.
We always used our Table service in the evening as it was only the two of us it felt like date night every night! Nice to spoilt ;)

Now though we are going back with the boss DD for her first trip and we plan to visit every character meal all 11 of them! These vary from breakfast, lunch and dinner though! For the breakfast ones I plan to eat at them as late as possible as I know I'll have to give DD something in the room before we leave as she won't wait to get ready and actually get to the restaurant!

Snacks we tend to use these on bottles of drinks or small gifts from goofys candy to bring home for people.

We have always come home with spare something last time we ha 3 Counter services left and loads of snacks! This year with having to share with DD (she's under 3) I think we will use it all!

There is a thread in the restaurant forum in the Disney dining plan sub forum every one reports back to say what they got as a snack the list is huge I'll try and post a link later just I'm on my phone at the moment! Some people have even got jacket potatoes as a snack! A SNACK! That's a meal for me lol!

We're stopping at the beach club later this year and I would love to do this but where would you get your dishes and spoons etc?

Maybe take some paper bowls/plastic spoons in your luggage.

From memory the plates/dishes and cutlery we had in the okw studio was paper/plastic.

we typically eat breakfast in our room (cereal and milk)..
sometimes we also use the snack credit in the morning (for a cake or coffee)...

we use the TS credit for both lunch and dinner...it depends on the day..

on park days we almost always use it for a nice long air conditioned lunch, but sometimes for an early dinner..
on non-park days, we use it for dinner...

we use the counter service for either lunch or dinner - depending on when we're doing TS that day.

we mainly use the snack for snacks each day in the park....each day is different - sometimes pretzels, or dole whips, or frozen cokes, or ice creams, or a sweet roll etc etc....

When we went in 2010 with free DDP, we tended to use our TS credits for lunch or dinner as DW/DD don't really eat much breakfast. As we were staying at OKW, we had a small kitchen so could keep cereal, milk, make toast etc for breakfast.

As we were having a few days away from Disney (at Seaworld), we booked a Dinner Show (Hoop de Doo) to free up a day from TS meals, and also booked a character breakfast at Cape May Cafe when we were visiting one of the water parks, again to free up a second day from TS meals.

We then used our CS credits mainly at lunchtime, or in the evening if we had a lunchtime TS meal booked.

We are planning to do similar this year. As we have a couple of days away from Disney (SW and Clearwater), we have booked Hoop de Hoo and Narcoossees, both 2TS meals, so that we don't "waste" them.

We've not done DDP in a while, but that's how I do it when I'm on the DDP

We do that in patterns of 3 days

Day 1 : TS Character breakfast, CS in the parks, Dinner off property (McD, BK, Denny's, Cici's, Domino's, etc)
Day 2 : Breakfast with a snack credit (Main street bakery, or resort food court for example), CS in park, TS dinner (sanaa's, boma's, ohana's and so on)
Day 3 : Breakfast with a snack credit, TS lunch (Tusker House, Yak & Yeti, T-Rex, and so on), Dinner off property (Giordano's, café osceola, giraffe café, and so on)
Day 4 : repeat day 1
day 5 : repeat day 2
and so on

we found that it gives us more flexibility in our planning, because it leaves nights open for special events (fireworks dessert party, MNSSHP, fantasmic with package, pirates and pals cruise), it leaves monring for sleeping in (no it ain't a waste of time, :rotfl: ) and lunchtime for activities that might drag on, such as a late pirate's league appointment and stuff like that

Still I reckon that our way of doing things involves the use of a car.

11 character meals....I cant wait for your trip report!!!!!!!!!!!

Apart from doing 2 character breakfasts we generally used snack credits for breakfast (pastry either from the hotel or at the park.) TS mainly in the evening (apart from a couple of lunches), counter service the rest of the time. We did 3 meals that required 2 TS credits and balanced this by sharing pizza between the 4 of us for a couple of lunches (thereby using only 2 credits for the meal instead of 4) leaving us only 1 TS meal to pay OOP.

We used all our credits, and got a couple of snacks and a CS salad to have at the airport on our last day.

I thought the dining plan was fab and allowed us to experience a wide range of dining options that we wouldn't have chosen if we didn't have it.

If you read this thread here there are loads of photos of The Beach Club Market Place and it shows paperwear i.e paper plates and bowls either I'll buy them or I'll get some plastic picnic stuff and pack it

We were on the CS plan last summer and to be honest, I found that if we ate a snack credit for breakfast and then a counter service meal at lunchtime, we were still too full for another counter service meal early evening (young child so not wanting to eat late). It was just so much food! We ended up eating a counter service breakfast at the Port Orleans, having a snack credit at midday and then eating our other counter service meal around 6/7pm. This was fine for us and we still had another snack credit left each day x3! Of course it is not the most cost effective way to use the plan as breakfast is a lower cost counter service option. But we got it free so we didn't mind.

So I suppose I am saying that if you have a counter service lunch you may find you are not hungry enough to make the most of a table service dinner.

We're at the Wilderness Lodge in October and will do CS for most breakfasts, snack for lunch and TS in the evening.
That said, I'm sure we'll snack some mornings and TS at lunch time on some days......
