Traveling is me DH DD11 and DD3. We have the dining plan for which DD11 is an adult. Here's the thing though, she will most likely not like anything from the adult menus and will prefer kids meals instead. Can we use 3 dining credits and purchase her a kids meal (thereby banking the adult dining credit to use later by me or DH?). If not, would it be more cost effective to just forego the DDP altogether and just pay for our meals.

Thanks, Leanne

My dd was just 10 on our last trip and we did the DDP. I was surprised at how much she liked dining off the adult menu. They were more than happy to offer her different sides that were more kid friendly like carrots or fries and kids desserts. They were also more than happy to prepare adult entrees without sauces or spices she might not like. At a couple of places, they allowed me to order her a kids meal and gave her a double portion. The thing its, the DDP is so much food. The cs portions are huge and we ended up sharing quite a bit (my son was only 12 so he isn't an adult portion eater yet either) and then used the last cs credits at the grab n go at our resort and had a nice lunch on the plane. If your experience mirrors ours, you will be doing well to use up all the credits anyway, if you have her adult credits left you might not end up using them. Its tough being in the gray area with these adult paying children! But even with some wasted food, many times of my dd not ordering the appetizers, and using almost all of our snack credits for water bottles (too full for snacks most of the time), the DDP was a great plan and easy to use.
