We are getting ready for our June 13-17 trip to VWL. DH and I already have our TIW tickets from a previous trip. My DD and her best girlfriend will be staying in their own studio and keeping their own hours. I was thinking of getting the girls the DDP so they can eat whenever/wherever they want on their own "sleep in" schedule. I have already booked a few TS meals for them. In your experience, would the DDP work for them or should we just let them "pay as you go"? Neither girl are raveous eaters, but I want them to feel free to eat as they want. Any ideas are appreciated!

For us, DDP when our party includes teenagers/20-somethings is perfect! It does let them come and go as they choose...it also adds a bit of "control" to your exposure to costs...

I took DS and 5 of his college friends (it was his college grad gift) in March of 2009...got the DDP for all of us...we all had dinner together every night and any dinner I was at (all of them, as it turns out), I paid for "extra's" (appetizers, tips, the occasional drink)...but when they were off on their own, they used DDP for snacks and counter-service eating and they paid for anything not on the plan...

It worked really, really well...the kids all had a sense of freedom, plenty to eat, and my financial exposure was "controlled"...they did not abuse in any way (they could have, of course, used a DDP TS credit w/out me around--but they didn't)...

I think it's one of the more perfect uses of the DDP...

How would the tips for TS be paid? Are the girls going to have charging privileges on their KTTW cards? Just wonder how other's have done it?

Hadn't thought about tipping however if they use quick service most of the time they won't have to worry about that too much. The table service meals I have planned will be with us so we will take care of the tip! The one meal they will do by themsevles at lunch will be a good time to learn about tipping!

If they aren't huge eaters, I wouldn't do it. Will they want to be pinned down to dining times and places? I would explain to them *rules* and see if it's something they'd enjoy.

If you're wanting to pre-pay, how about a gift card for meals?
