I have no idea how to begin searching for this, so please accept my apologies if this has been covered in the past. We are DVC members. We have APs and the DDE. We will be staying at the CR (room-only) over Christmas and are not using points to do so.

I just realized that the DDE card will be a worthless piece of plastic on 12/24 and 12/25, so I am considering the DDP. But I have no idea if I can sign up for the plan for this stay. I asked the CR IPO, and they said to check with Member Services. But I can't call MS from work. So I figured I'd ask you guys instead. What do you think?

You absolutely can buy DDP as a resort guest...in fact, DDP was available to resort guests considerably earlier than it was to DVC members...

Same rules apply: all people in your party have to participate, and it has to be for the entire length of your stay (it's based on the number of nights you stay).

If you only want those two days (12/24 and 12/25), you either have to do two (maybe three, depending on whether 12/24 and 12/25 fall in the middle of your trip) separate reservations (so that your "entire stay," for DDP purposes, is only 12/24 and 12/25), or you can't use it...

We've used DDP twice now, both times as guests at the Yacht Club and Beach Club...we're also signed up for it for our T-giving trip as DVC members at SSR...for the resort guests trips, the first time we used it we found out about it (it was real new then) after I'd already made reservations...so I called and they had to redo our reservations; the requirement at the time was that DDP had to be purchased at the time the reservations were made...if that's the rule still, you may have to make new CR reservations, and then cancel the old ones (make sure you make the new ones first, so you don't risk losing the old one just in case a reservation that suits you isn't available)..

Good luck...

As it was explianed to me you need to book it for the smae number of nights you are staying at a DVC resort. Where you are staying is not DVC (yet) so my answer would be no but MS is open late on Thursday so...... call and ask an let us know if they will allow...

You can not book the dining plan if you are staying on points at a non-DVC resort. You can not book the DDP if you are staying in a room only, AP discounted room.

You can only book the plan for cash stays at non-DVC resorts by following all the rules of CRO packages...including the need to purchase a park ticket. Discount codes may be available for the package, but they are different codes from the AP code. I believe the packages have a 3 night minimum.

It is my understanding that it is available if you purchase a package wchich includes at least one day park tickets for each person as well as the DDP. I think it also has to be at least 3 days but am not sure of that. The availability based on your DVC membership is when you stay at DVC on points. You do not have to purchase park tickets if you are doing it through DVC. Please let us know how you make out.
