I'm seriously considering doing the DDP for the first time but I'm a little confused on what days of our stay it covers. We are arriving late on our first day and leaving very early on departure day. Do I still have to pay for those days or can I opt to just purchase the plan for the 3 full days we will be there? Sorry if this was posted a million other places!

Dining Plans are per night of your stay, not per day. You must purchase for all nights of your stay, and for all guests in your party.

There are great stickies at the top of this board about everything you need to know about all dining plans - I highly recommend reading them as they are great!

Get out a piece of paper and write down some possiblities. You can use a TS for breakfast and for dinner on the same day. It might work or you might find that you are prepaying for just too much food. Of course if you are getting the DDP for free, that's a whole different story.

We also will be arriving late. To use our "extra" TS credit we will be going to a signature restaurant and use two at once. I don't expect any problem fitting in one more QS. But in our case, we will be moving to another Disney resort at the end of our FD package so we'll have until midnight to finish our credits.

Here's a scenario to show you how it could work.

So say you're arriving really late on Friday, and leaving very early on Tuesday...so in this example, you'll be there 4 nights - Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights. That will give you 4 TS, 4 CS & 4 snacks per person. But due to the late arrival & early departure, you're actually only there for 3 full days.

Since you're getting there late on Friday, you won't use any credits on Friday. So you could have a 2 TS meal like Calif Grille on Saturday, then do 1 TS restaurant for dinner on Sunday & Monday nights. Or you could schedule 1 TS meals all three nights for your dinner AND have a TS breakfast one of those days -- like do a character breakfast buffet one day.

You can do counter service lunch on Saturday, Sunday & Monday...plus since you didn't use any the first night, you have another counter service you can use for a breakfast on any of those days. Or if you have time on the day you leave you could have counter service breakfast at your hotel before departure.

Thanks! I kinda had a feeling thats the way that works. Now its just a matter of getting another ADR at a TS 15 days in. Its not going well!!

Do you want suggestions...what meals and/or locations are you looking for?

I already had 1 TS ADR per day: Crystal Palace BF, Sci-Fi Dine In, Biergarten, Tusker House BF. In a perfect world I wanted to try to get Chef Mickey for any night. At least none of the CMs have giggled when I ask for it. I did get Boma for dinner but I'm going to keep working the Chef Mickey angle.
