When we first got DDP we believed it was too good to be true. We simply couldn't believe the quantity and quality of food we were given. We even got it added on to our stay for free. I wondered how long it could last. . .

This last fall I got to attend a day with a former WDW v.p. He talked to us about leadership. One of his main points was that you needed to make dramatic leaps in guest service becuase people don't notice incremental changes. He mentioned DDP as an example. DDP, he said, was break even at best for the company. However, guests were amazed at how much nicer it made their vacations. In the end, I would guess that those who really knew how to work the DDP and used every single credit would really cost Dinsey money.

So now, we are seeing incremental change that is not supposed to be noticeable. Perhaps it will be more than breakeven for Disney now. Guests will have to weigh very carefully the value of the new plan.

I am mostly concerned about the cast members who need gratuity to make a living. I hear they are already feeling it.

I am hoping those who see these changes as being a bad thing, and who wouldn't, will take it to management instead of letting it hurt the frontline.

I have called Disney and emailed them several times in reguard to these issues also. By no means am I saying my one phone call changed anything, but the next day after calling and emailing them, I read where a child 3-9 can have an appetizer. :rotfl:
For some families with children 3-9 that would work out just great, but for others, we have to plan long and hard to stay ahead. :confused3 We have got the plan for the first time Jan. 27-31 and will see if we come out ahead. I could eat cheaply :rotfl: at Disney, hamburgers, ect or as we have done in the past eat off grounds and stay off grounds. And I look at it this way, no one forced me to spend my harder than ever $$. But I still would like choices from appetizer or desert.
