DDP - do you buy much extra food?

We do. We stay in a value resort during free dining promotions, so we end up with the QS plan. This works out nicely for us. We have kids with autism who don't do the sit and wait at a restaurant well, so the regular plan would be wasted on us.
We went one trip with my son turning 3 the day we left. He's not a huge eater, but his then 1 year old sister is, and so are the older 2. Since the QSDP only was available for the older 2 and adults, we would buy either an extra kids meal to split between the 2 little ones or a few sides, then split around the 2 kids meals and extras. This became a more popular option for the kids since they all got super tired of the packages of grapes twice per day pretty quick!
We usually pay OOP for one buffet character meal per trip. Since we generally do trips to celebrate big events, this is the celebratory dinner.

DH and I are fairly big eaters so we buy some supplemental things. We eat breakfast OOP at the resort CS each morning. We go during Food and Wine, so we use most of our snack credits for items at the booths. I don't want to deal with getting water shipped, etc for just the two of us, so I do pay OOP for some water and drinks.

We generally just buy soda as DH isn't really a water drinker and ice cream sundaes feel like a better use of a snack credit. But then the five days we are offsite at Universal / Busch etc give us extra credits we can use for signatures or breakfast. Gotta have at least one Mickey Waffle!
