OK I know there was discussion before about this but I never saw the final answer. I am going to Disney for free dining in August, we also bought the Dining Card in November. Can I use the dining card discount for alcoholic beverages at table service meals? I really hope so! :wizard:

We have and it's never been a problem. Our most recently trip was May 2006.

I have an email into Disney asking this question. They have replied about 3 or 4 times now, with just the specifics of the plan and not answering my question. Hopefully someone will give me a real answer soon as this is getting quite frustrating.

You can wait and get emails from Disney, but it will not make any difference whatsoever. The servers at each restraurant do what they want in terms of the rules. We used our DDE at every meal during our May (12 night) visit, plus we were on the dining plan. We payed out of pocket for extras, coffee and drinks, and some meals for my GS and GD (not on the DDP) and got the DDE discount, plus we used our DDP TS adults only credits for other adults dining with us. We also dined with friends on their own DDP, plus a friend not on the DDP. The servers let us use our DDE discount for our non-DDP friend, all the while using our TS credits for ourselves. We had no problem using the DDP credits and DDE discounts at any of the places we ate. We also had no problem using our extra TS credits for extra adults that joined us when eating. The only problem we ever encountered was at Coral Reef, but was still allowed to use our adult TS credits. We found that every place we ate had their own rules, so the policy was that there was no policy set as a standard rule. I know it's frustrating, but we would had no problem paying OOP if we have to. While we are not part of the sharing of meals club....we are part of the give your extra adult TS and CS credits to other family and friends club.

We had no problems at: Kona Cafe (3 times), Concourse Steakhouse, LeCellier (3 times), Cape May, 50s Prime Time, the Plaza, and only a minor hassle at Coral Reef (2 times).

As for the emails, last year we had ADRs for several buffets with our 11 year old grandson. Right before we left for our mid-July trip, Disney decided to drop the age from 11 to 9 for children's meal prices. I can't tell you how many folks got messages from disney and confirmation from disney dining, telling everyone that IF you already had your ADR prior to July 1, they would honor the old price.....NO WAY JOSE. When we asked at Cape May if my GS had to pay adult prices, even though we made our ressie back in May, we were told absolutely he would be charged adult prices. So we canceled our buffets for that trip and made all TS ADRs. That email message I had with me didn't hold up at all.
