We just booked today for our family Thanksgiving trip in 2009.

My husband and I have AP's and we have used the dining plan in the past. Our last trip, however, we bought the DDE card and used that and we were quite happy with it.

For our Thanskgiving trip, there will be at least 8 of us. If we purchase the dining plan for our group, can we also use our DDE card to cover drinks and any appetizers we may want?

So far, we are looking to eat at 4 buffets (Chef Mickey's, Ohana's, Boma, & 1900 Park). We feel that on those days, the dining plan is cost effective for us. But we know that we will want a few old fashioned sit down dinners that week also. That is where we are looking to combine the DDE & the DDP.

Has anyone done this? TIA

Yes, you can do this. The off-plan items will be billed separately and you can apply DDE (now Tables in Wonderland) to that bill. Of course, you won't be able to use TIW on Thanksgiving Day.

Thank you! That is good to hear. I was wondering about the holiday exclusions and am glad to hear it is just for the holiday and not the week surrounding the holiday.
