have just booked a short trip to Pop for next Feb from the UK with my MIL for her 70th birthday gift

It's part of the free dining, and says its free breakfast, but later it says it can be eaten at the hotel or at many locations in the parks. Would this be the same as a snack credit or a quick service meal? Can anyone confirm or point me to the right place to check.

It is a QS breakfast. It's a UK-specific offer. You can eat it at the Pop food court, or at a place that offers the QS breakfast. That's actually limited at the parks.

Thanks for that. Would we get a list of the places we could use it? I've never stayed on site before let alone had any kind of dining plan so unsure

Ooh, one more question, do you know, even though it's breakfast only, if we get the unlimited refill mugs with that, or would we have to buy them? MIL is an avid tea drinker, so I know she would very much appreciate the unlimited supply :)

In reading the UK offer, it doesn't appear that the "breakfast only DDP" available to UK guests at value resorts includes the refillable mug.

Looks like you have to do either the QS free dining at a moderate package, or the DDP free dining at a deluxe package to get the mug.

You can still purchase it OOP if you're set on having it.

Thanks so much. I've looked everywhere trying to find more info on the breakfast only offer, but couldn't find anything. I'm happy to buy the mug, so that's not a big deal.

I'm just in such new territory here as we've always stayed offsite for longer holidays, but for this short surprise trip for my MIL it made sense to do the full immersion experience.

Thanks again. You've been really helpful :)

Edit to add: D'oh, now I feel like a numpty. Finally found the page that explains the different levels of the U.K. Free dining offers. It's on a slightly different variation of the Disney pages I booked from.

I'm under the impression that it's not really a "breakfast only" plan. They just give you a single QS credit per day. You should be able to use it at any counter service restaurant any time.

Here's the quote directly from the UK Disney site. Sure sounds like breakfast only to me, but I guess it could be any counter service meal.....

Stay at a Disney Value Hotel and you'll enjoy FREE Breakfast during your stay
Stay 2 weeks and you'll save £167 per adult! Enjoy a free breakfast before a day of fun in the Parks! Includes counter and self-service restaurants. Per guest, per night:

  • 1 Self-Service Meal

Ooh, BOG looks like it might count. She'd love that.

It is super fun!! But make sure to make an Advanced Dining Reservation (BOG books fast!), you can book 180 days prior to trip. You can make the reservation online through your Disney account. If you can't find a time that works for you just keep looking something will pop up, even if it's a week or even 1 day before..something always becomes available!

The descriptions on all of the dining plans on the UK site (now that I found the right page) use the term 'self service' instead of 'quick service or counter service' as I'm used to reading in other DDP discussions. Unless they've changed the terminology everywhere. So that's part of why it's confusing. Mint would be nice if it was any QS meal, but as I wasn't expecting a dining plan of any kind even if it's just a breakfast it's a bonus.

Thanks. DH and I were there in Nov. Tried to book 4 months out and it was booked solid, but did keep trying and eventually managed to swing a lunch and a dinner reservation. I know better for the this next trip.
