DDP beverage doesn't have to be a soda, right?

It's been a while since we've used the dining plan - what are my beverage options if I don't want a soda?

Thanks!

Pretty much any non-alcoholic beverage at most locations. Juice, coffee, bottled water. Some "premium beverages" like shakes may or may not be included, depending on location.

In terms of the refillable mug, options are a bit more limited --- anything from the soda machine, which usually includes some form of artificial juice, plus coffee and iced tea. Real juices, milks, specialty coffees, are not included in the mug.

We have been to most of the restaurants on Disney property over the last 4 years, and our experience is you will have the most choices at Disney-owned restaurants. They generally allowed soda, coffee, tea, milkshakes if the restaurant has them, smoothies, and some places even allow "virgin" cocktails like pina colada without the alcohol.

However, at the non-Disney owned places (including a lot of the World Showcase restaurants and Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom) your only choices will be the soda fountain drinks, regular coffee and soda fountain tea. Period, no exceptions. Via Napoli has even told us twice that on the Dining plan it is soda fountain beverages ONLY (meaning coffee and tea were extra charge if we wanted them.) A lot of the World Showcase restaurants have imported bottled waters and bottled sodas on their menus...these are not allowed on the dining plan either (example: Italian restaurants have Italian orange soda on their menu...not allowed.)

Best to ask before ordering if the server does not tell you that shakes or smoothies are allowed.
