We (DGF, DD5, and myself) are using the DDP and were wondering if we can make ressies at a place and then just use one TS credit and purchase an appetizer or a side item as well and then share? For instance, could we get a ressie at Tokyo dining for lunch and get one entree using a TS credit and then one sushi roll paid for OOP, and then for dinner on the same day go to San Angel and get one TS credit entree and an appetizer OOP and then use either the child TS credit or OOP for DD5's meal?

Will the restaurants have any problem with us splitting an entree using the DDP?

When you make the reservations online it gives you the option to connect them to your DDP, will this create a problem if we only want to use one TS credit or none at all when we get to the restaurant?

The reason we would prefer to do it this way is because we are the types that eat a little bit at a time throughout the day instead of relying on large meals in one sitting. Last time we had the DDP we wound up wasting a lot of food because it was just too much all at once and we felt obligated to get the dessert since we had already paid for it but then could barely eat any of it.

Thanks in advance.

No problem at all, for people on the same plan. Obviously not at buffets, et. al., and for reasons unfathomable, not allowed at Beaches & Cream, but otherwise OK.

Linking DDP to your reservation doesn't make a whit of difference, unless it's a location that requires prepayment (CRT, dinner shows). You always have until the time it comes to pay the check to decide whether to use credits (and how many) or pay OOP.

Awesome. Thanks, that was exactly the information I was looking for.

So is there a purpose at all for linking reservations to the DDP?

Except for CRT and dinner shows, I can't think of a good reason to do so.

Maybe for storing your itinerary online, but given my general distrust of Disney's web site's accuracy, I wouldn't trust it to work right anyway. I prefer keeping ADRs in a spreadsheet.
