DDP at OKW - more than one "family" in each room

First of all, my apologies if this question has been asked before. We are long-time DVC members, but have never used the DDP before, so please bear with me.

We will be going in November, staying at OKW, 18 people, 6 families, in a studio and two 2-bedroom suites.

Member services told me that each "family" will pay for DDP at check in and will have their credits appear on their keycards. Other posters seem to mention that all credits for each room appear on all keycards. Which is right?
We will not all be checking in at the same time, but all on the same day - will be have to wait to check in at once?

If I am not making myself clear, I again apologize, but since I am the one distributing the information to the people traveling, I would like to try to get it right so as to avoid problems at check in.

Any help out threre?:confused3 .

The credits for each room will appear on the key cards for each respective room, not all 18 lumped together, as they are separate reservation numbers.

Each room will pay for the DDP when they check-in for everyone in that room.

In otherwords, all credits for the studio will appear on the studio key cards, all credits for 2 bedroom unit #1 will appear on those keys, and all credits for 2 bedroom #2 will appear on their keys.

Thank you, Chuck. But does that still mean that, for example, the three families who are staying in the 2-bedroom won't be able to check in until the third one who is arriving at 10 p.m. that night arrives to pay for their DDP? Member services seemed to indicate that it would be on their cards by family. Really, I think this problem may only exist with regard to that one 2 bedroom suite since three families in the other 2-bedroom are traveling together and the other family in the studio won't have the same issues.

Am I understanding this better?:confused3

Someone will have to pay for all the families. So the late arriving family will need to reimburse the family member who paid for them.

DDP is due at check in. Who ever checks in first pays for everyone else. If multiple people are there at check in, they can split it or pay a portion of it as long as the full amount is paid at that time.

Thank you so much - I understand now (good thing I didn't trust what Member Services told me LOL).

I suppose you realize this, but just in case---the credits for the 3 families staying together in the 2 b/r will be all lumped together on all the KTTW cards. If family A eats 12 snack credits the first day, family C might have a problem the last day, thinking they still have some left. If the families are splitting up to do the parks (and eating separately) they might want to reconcile the credits between them each night. Good luck!!!
