Does anyone have any ideas on how the DDP will work if you arrive toward the end of 2007 and depart in early January? Will you get the price and benefits of the 2007 DDP in December and then change to the price and loss of tip, etc. of the rumored 2008 DDP plan on January 1? :confused3

I can already tell this is going to get much more confusing before we all get it figured out!

My guess is that there will be a transition period through January 9, during which the old arrangements will be honored on demand or as default.

Someone posted on the DVC board that Member Services said the price would be 2007 under those circumstances. I would think that the same would be true of the benefits. For anyone checking in 1/1, the price and benefits will change...at least that is my guess.

Perhaps there will be new KTTW cards or some other way to differentiate the 2007 from 2008 plan.

I imagine there will be some confusion though.

Excepting DVC, guests are likely to check out and back in early in 2008 in order to take advantage of lower resort pricing. A few days into 2008 DVC members will probably be the only dining guest who have 2007 dining packages.

Savvy guests maybe. I think many/most guests book their vacation without knowing the intricacies of WDW pricing. Other guests might have vacations that span from value season to value season...we've done that before although this year holiday rates do start early.

Still I agree that a few days into 2008 most guests will have 2008 packages.

With the rumored new pricing structure that might not be happening as much anymore if the first several days of January are not value priced as they were in the past.

Also, I believe the checking in/out happens more often with guests who are room only and not on the package since doing so would require purchasing another set of tickets if the guest wants to continue the dining plan.

We will have an overlapping stay and are using the dining plan for the first (and probably only) time. I would be surprised if our benefits don't stay the same.
