DDP and tipping at buffets?

How much do you tip a server at a buffet? We are visiting WDW for the first time later this month. I have the DDP and ADRs for a couple of different buffets. At a normal table service restaurant I would tip 18%-20% but this is someone taking my order and serving my food. At a buffet the server is refilling drinks and that's it right? Do you still tip as much? TIA.

If your party is 6 people or more, the tip is an automatic 18% at all table service restaurants, including buffets. If your party is 5 or less, it's discretionary.

WDW is probably the only place I ever eat at a buffet. I tip the same as I would at a regular table service.

I personally tip 10% on buffets. My dd works at a place that only does buffet on Sat. & Sunday and that's pretty normal for her.

Well....there have been extensive threads on this subject recently. Let's see:

When the DDP included tip, the tip for buffets was 18%.

Now that the DDP charges and automatic tip for buffets for parties over 6, it's 18%.

The tip charged for DDE customers is...18%. Kind of a theme there, huh?

Almost every etiquette expert (Good Housekeeping, Dear Abby, Emily Post) says 10% is the appropriate base tip for a buffet, more if the server does extra.

Tipping.org says 5%-10%.

Miss Manners says to tip 15%-20%, just as any other restaurant.

Some folks here on the DIS say $1 per person, some say 20%, and most say somewhere in between.
