DDP and Number of Nights $$$

I hope I'm making sense here, but I'm trying to figure out if DDP will be worth it for us. We have a one night ressie for 12/31, and then a 4 night ressie for 1/1-1/5 (to avoid paying holiday peek rates for the entire 5 nights).

So, if I decide to do a package, can I only get the DDP for 4 nights? And will it go into effect on 1/1, not 12/31, i.e., I can't start using credits until 1/1?

Thanks for any insight. Have been to Disney that past 2 years, but never used the DDP yet.

Yes, I think you are correct. You won't be able to get it for the first night.
