DDP and kids' menus

I have a question about the DDP and some of the kid's menu choices. I noticed that at a couple TS restaurants, there was a kid's choice that was $2 more than the other meals (ie the skillet at WCC or steak at Le Cellier). Would these choices not be available under the DDP?

They are included with the children's DDP.

According to allears menus, if you order the child's steak at Le Cellier, there is an additional $2.00 charge.

I've looked at quite a few of the children's menus for our upcoming trip, and that's the only one that I remember having an additional charge. WCC does not for the children's skillet (at least according to allears).

If you look at the allears kids menu for WCC, under entrees it says (Add $2 for skillet.)

My understanding is that so long as the menu item is not an add on price, like a side order, then it is included, even if it is more expensive.

Except where that's not the case.

Sounds like both Whispering Canyon and Le Cellier have surcharges for the more expensive child meals. I'll update the FAQ with this information.

Even if I have to pay the additional $2 for the kids steak at LeCellier that isn't bad.

Actually I'll probably end up eating the kids steak and let my son order something off the adult menu because he doesn't like anything off the kids menu. So he probably order the chicken and I can eat some of that if I'm still hungry.

I have to say that even for the TS the choices for the kids are almost the same at every meal (unless you do a buffet).

Honestly my kids don't eat mac'n'cheese or hot dogs and cheese pizza is going to get really old really quick.

I have to say that the kids menu really sucks. Especially for the older kids that aren't 10 yet and so still have to order off the kids menu.

We were on DDP in December and my 7y old got the steak at Le Cellier. It did say $2 extra but we were not charged. We were charged the extra $$ for the Bernaise sauce that DH and I requested which was fine but they did not charge for her steak.

Thanks for the info! I wouldn't deny her a steak for an extra $2. I was just curious about how it worked on DDP. My DH doesn't eat mac n' cheese or hot dogs, so I'm sure she will enjoy some different options. Even if we end up paying OOP for her meals, we're still ahead with free dining. Although, it would bother me to pay for DDP and have her choices so limited. That's why we had never done the plan before.

The way that I read it on allears.net, there is a surcharge of $2.00 for the child's steak at LeCellier and the skillet at WCC, if you are paying out of pocket for it.

It doesn't appear to me that this necessarily means that you have to pay the additional $2.00 if you are using the DDP. Just as if you are ordering from any adult menu on the DDP, you get any entree, whether it is the least or most expensive.

We have never been charged anything additional for our kids at WCC for the skillet when we have used the DDP. Of course, I could be wrong or things might change, as they are always subject to do.
