DDP and eating OUTSIDE the parks????

Okay we are seriously considering using DDP for part of our trip. The reason I say part is because we are staying in two different locations in Aug. We are staying Boardwalk Villas for 4 nights and then Saratoga for 5 nights so we thought maybe trying it while at BW. When we go in Aug. we plan on only going to EC for a couple of days....we went to hang out at our resorts, do Disney Quest, the water parks. SO right now I have one ADR at LeCellier for lunch. Where are your favorite NON PARK TS restaurants to eat?? Thanks.

I personally really enjoy dinner at 1900 Park Fare. You get great character interaction and good food (the shrimp & asparagus alfredo is so delicious) and aren't using any days on your park tickets.

The only other non-park places we've dined are Whispering Canyon (had a dud for a waiter who didn't "play" along and mediocre food) and Chef Mickey's (once it was great, once so-so, and once pretty bad). We love the Hoop Dee Doo Review over at Fort Wilderness. The Spirit of Aloha show was ok--I'd do it again, but my DH and DS said once was enough.

This past trip we dined at Planet Hollywood in dd for a table service. There was tons of food and the waiter was very friendly.

Personally, I vote for O'Hana's and Olivia's. Both were very good. I also enjoyed Whispering Canyon but didn't catch on to the shenanigans very quickly (our wait person didn't participate either....sigh) I had fun at Chef Mickey's. The food was pretty good but the highlight for me was dancing with Goofy. I'm not a huge Goofy fan but when I stood up to hug him, he wiggled like he was dancing so we wound up doing the jitterbug in the middle of the restaurant. It was fairly early and not crowded that day so I was lucky to get to spend a bit of time with the characters.

Spoodles, Ohanas and Kona Cafe are always on our list. Boatrights is good too.

We rarely eat at restaurants inside the parks. We like California Grill (2 TS credits) and Ohana the best. Boma and Spoodles are up there too.

Ours would have to be O'hanna's and Captain Jacks (DTD).

Captain Jacks had a steak and lobster dinner that was perfect, not huge but with the crab cake appetizer and cheesecake dessert it was a perfect meal. DW and I ate there, our tab would have been $125 for dinner......but we had the free DDP!! We ate there twice!!
O'hanna's is a family tradition!!!

Personal favorites: Boma dinner buffet, Cape May dinner buffet.

Folks around here also like: Ohana, Kona Cafe.

Don't overlook counter-service dinners; the prime rib at Pepper Market is the best $20 fast-food prime rib I have ever had.
