I am booked for the Candlelight which takes 2 table service meals. After reading the rules in my mind this means I would need to buy a 2 day for the dining plan. The problem is I am booked for 3 nights In 3 different resorts. Member services told me if I buy the plan for Dec 4 and 5th I would have until midnight of the 5th to use it up. My thoughts are since I am booked in different resorts I would have to buy 2 different (separate) days and I am not sure how I would ever get 2 table services for the candlelight. I am trying real hard to try to explain so I hope it is not too confusing. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you

You buy the dining plan by the number of nights. So if you purchase it for one night you get one credit for TS and CS (beyond that, I don't know it changes from time to time). You can't combine the credits from two different stays for a single meal. You'll need to stay at least two nights at one resort to get two credits for the Candlelight dining. Otherwise, you can't use the dining plan for your meal there.

I think I understand. You have three separate reservations in three different resorts. You want too use two dining plan credits in the CP. I do not think this is going to work. Unless someone can figure out how to combine the credits for three different reservations I do not know how to do so. The reservations are not combined, so you woudl somehow have to connect a dining credit from night A with a dining credit from night B.

I would not do this. I woudl book the DxDDP for one night only, or skip the plan altogether and pay OOP for food. If you book the DxDDP you get three TS credits to use over teh 2 day span, so one night you get the CP and the next you have 1 credit elsewhere. SO figure $80 for one meal, and $50 for another, and 10 for snacks.

This is the best answer for your problem. Do the DxDDP for the night's stay that includes the CP you want to do. This will be cheaper than three nights of the regular plan, but gives you fewer over all meals.

Yay I feel accomplished to have explained it correctly. :) Yes my scenario exactly. I asked member services if I buy 2 night of the DDP if it could be combined and they said no but they also said if I buy the reg DDP for 1 night on the 4th then I could use it all day on the 5th. I thought if I bought it on the 4th then at 11:59pm on the 4th it would be done. Nancy....I like your suggestion for the Deluxe. Buying 1 day for that would work much better and be cheaper than 2 days of the others with risk of losing meals. So if I buy 1 deluxe for the 4th can I still use it after midnight which would then be the 5th?

The expiration times confuse me. I thought I understood until talking to member services.
So if I buy the DXDDP for the 4th (night of the CP) when do all my meals end? I thought y midnight of the 4th but MS sounded like I could still use on the 5th. Thanks again

You need to use it before you check into the next resort. Just buy the DDP for the night you want to attend the show. You can use the final credit the next morning for breakfast. If you are going on the 5th, buy the DDP for the resort you are sleeping at on the 5th.

We are going to CP on the 4th. So I would buy the DDP for the 4th and I would have until check out time on the 5th to finish my meals. Correct? I know I am making this harder than it it but I know Disney and I need to get it right. Thanks again.

Yes. Do that. You'd have until check in time to finish your meals. Sometimes they can still make it work after you check into the new resort, but you might need the front desk to make that work.

If the Candlelight Processional dining package is the only reason you're getting the dining plan then just pay for it OOP and problem solved.
Not worth all the hassle and confusion at this point and may or may not be worth the money.
You'd want to buy a DxDP for one night to make it simple.

Now I'm confused! My understanding was that if I purchased the DDP for one night that the credits would not expire until midnight of the 2nd day, whether or not I was checking into a 2nd hotel or going home on the 2nd day. We are checking into WL on 11/25 for one night, checking into AKL on 11/26. I believed our DDP credits would not expire until 11:59 p.m. 11/26 - are you saying they expire as soon as we check into AKL on 11/26?

Thank you!

This is what I have always read.

This is NOT true. Credits are good until midnight of the check-out day no matter where you are going for the next night.

Yes, you buy the DxDDP for the 4th and you have until midnight of the 5th to use all credits.

Not sure why Deb & Bill said you have to use them. That is NOT correct. They are good until midnight of the day you check out, so you're good until midnight of the 26th.

Thank you!

Now your next task is to do some math. Look at teh cost of the CP meal you have booked, and then add the cost of one more meal that you wnt to enjoy. Look at the appetizer, entree, beverage, adn dessert. Add in two snacks, and figure 10 for those two items. The cost is tax free, you have already paid the tax upon purchase of the plan. If the cost is less than your plan cost, pay OOP. f it is not use the plan. I think you will be over teh amount of the plan, however the CP I booked is about $80, and I will be ordering an alcoholic beverage if included. And will for my next meal, which would be one that included steak and yummy appetizers to choose from.

They are good until midnight of check out day. But there have been lots of guests who complained that when they tried to use the dining credits of their prior reservation after they checked into a new resort there were issues. You just want to make sure they are still there when you check in to the new resort. Otherwise, you might not have them when you try to pay for your dining.
