How far in advance of my trip should I order the DDE card?

They tell you to order at least 6 weeks prior, I got my card 4 weeks after I placed the order

Yes at guest relations at Epcot.

but you still have to order it during regular business hours.

If you order it after the 12th of the month it will expire the following year of the next month ( Ordered 9-12/07 / expire 10/30/08)

If the card doesn't arrive in time then have the Temp card sent to the Epcot GR and pick that up at any time.

My last card only took 2 1/2 weeks. I was surprised. I just got my renewal information today in the mail for my DDE card. I expire 10/31/07, but out next trip is January 26, 2008, so will probably order a new card mid-December so that the next card expires the end of January 2009 (I have a trip planned for January 2009, so this works out great). I want to make sure I order in December, just in case the cost goes up in January 2008.
